Will Poketech or Pokegear be replaced?

I really looking for something to replace the Poketeck. I thought the Poketeck was horrible. The Pokegear was good. I wonder what the 5th Generation thingh will be? Any Ideas?

I liked the Pokegear from HG/SS.

Seeing the Poketch (or is it Poketech?) from D/P/PT in the Anime and Dawn squealing senseless over it put me off it completely.

Of course it will be replaced. Each region has it's own trainer helper.

Kanto arguably has the Fame Checker.
Johto has the Pokegear.
Hoenn has the Pokenav.
Sinnoh has the Poketch.

Really? I liked some of the poketch functions. Coin flip, breeding tracker, happiness tracker, and itemfinder were all excellent.

But the Pokegear had a phone, radio, clock, and map.

So combine the two and I'm happy. The PokeC (Pun on PC)

yeah, Pokégear >>>>>>> Pokétch

Though the Poketch had more uses. You could view the marking map (to check for roamers) while walking around, whereas you have to go fully into the Pokegear and lose the ability to move between routes with hte map on-screen. It had a number of useful functions the Pokegear doesn't, really... the Pokegear might be represented better graphically, but the Poketch had superior functions.

You can't really put the Poketch on the same level as the PokeGear or the PokeNav, which were both actually useful. (Admittedly, the PokeGear was by far more useful than the Nav, but that's besides the point.) The Poketch was just some pathetic attempt to include the touch screen into regular gameplay. Personally, I'd rather they just stick to having the Menu down there than having it replaced with some lame device that I'll rarely use.

I personally liked the Poketch a lot more then the Pokegear, as I found that the phone function was very annoying, and could be replaced entirely with the VS. Seeker. The map could easily be a town map, and I rarely use the radio except for swarms. The Poketch had a lot of useful functions.

I preferred the poketch over the pokegear and I'm hoping that the poketch will be brought back with more applications. I liked being able to count my steps, I liked being able to see the happiness level of my pokemon, I liked the counting app to help with EV training, I liked the map, I liked the item finder, and I liked how the poketch was always out. Now there is an item finder key item and it gets reset every time you go through a doorway or enter a battle or something. There isn't a step counter, and there isn't a convenient way to check the pokemon's happiness outside of golden rod. Getting my Eevee to evolve into an Umbreon was a real pain in HG/SS cause I had no idea what its level of happiness was and I constantly had to go back to golden rod.

The poketch I think is far superior to the pokegear and I hope the poketch is brought back. Or at least, lets not have the pokegear return or something like it. I found it very annoying, I hardly use the radio function, most of the calls are just annoying besides the daycare man calling you when there is an egg which I believe is the ONLY improvement of the poketch because in the poketch you had to constantly check, but that's just one.

I'll be hoping the poketch returns, if the calling function is necessary, why cant there be a way to call people on your poketch? Poketch all the way, for me!

Agreed! Now we have to wait for the trainers to challenge us instead of you challenge the trainers as much as you want. I got a lot of my money from that before my team was strong enough to defeat the elite four with ease.

I thought both pokegear and poketch had advantages and disadvantages, but I like the poketch a little more. Like previously mentioned, It's much easier to check happiness and is great for roaming legendaries especially in platinum with the three legendary birds.

You'll probably get a Pokiphone.

I believe that the PokéGear was mean't to be a smartphone, hence the "phone" aspect of it.

Funny though, it is like Pokémon predicted the invention of the smartphone...

Radical

PokeHeadSet.
PokeBlueTooth.
PokeiPad.
PokeTelegraph.

Or we have to manually write messages on the touchscreen with the stylus, tie the note to a Starly, and sent it to our friends over wireless.

I hope for a Pokétch with a more appealing interface, though I wouldn't mind if it's kept as is, because it was by far the most useful Pokégadget that didn't require you to navigate through Menus, and has much more useful features than all others put together.

For the Touch Screen Menu implementation (As unnecessary as it is), they could either have both the new Gadget and the Menu options in the same screen. Say, half-half, or the typical Menu options are represented by smaller icons while the Gadget is always on the screen. Or we can display the Gadget at all times through a button that hides the typical Menu and lets us open or close it without interrupting normal gameplay. Or we can access the Menu options through the Gadget itself. There's many easy to implement possibilities that don't hinder neither the Menu nor the Gadget's usability, and make gameplay much more dynamic.

I just hope they remember the most useful Pokétch features and make them available in the new gadget, and that the interface isn't constrained to Menu navigation. One can only hope...

We're getting the iPokePad anyway, but I would have liked for them to keep the Poketch.

Why didn't they just called the Poketch the Pokewatch? That would make a lot more sense, and make a lot less dumb.

They'll probably come out with the Poketablet because it'll be HIP AND MODERN.

Poketch annoyed me to no end. I'm holding out for the style of HGSS's interface, where everything is there in front of you. It was a nice blend of menu and "gear" usage.

Next we'll get iPoke.

I hope not. Neither player character in the new games looks like a hipster

Why do you think the new games are called White (Apple iPod white) and Black (Steve Job's turtleneck shirt).

It always will be, but generally the core functions are always kept so it doesn't matter anyways.
