Will Seviper, Carnivine, Yanmega and Mime Jr. ever return?

Right now, Team Rocket's Seviper, Carnivine, Yanmega and Mime Jr. are at Team Rocket's HQ, stored since Giovanni decided that it was too risky to bring them to Unova.

However, right now Jessie and James are far away from Unova and they still haven't gotten their Pokémon back (except for Wobbuffet). Will Team Rocket ever recall them again? I assume that right now Team Rocket's HQ is being handled like Oak's lab in terms of Pokémon storage. However, we still haven't had a chance to see any of those Pokémon back, and we really have nothing telling us that it will be like Ash's Pokémon at Oak's lab (we always know that we will see Ash's Pokémon at Oak's lab sooner or later).

I can find a lot of contexts in which those Pokémon could return. For example, Jessie wanting to use some "fresh" and experient Pokémon at those Kalos Queen competitions? Or Jessie and James deciding that they need back-ups for a fight against Team Flare?

And would they return temporarily of permanentily, like Wobbuffet? They have room for them, Jessie would have 4 Pokémon and James 3. Those two have never had as many Pokémon before, but if we count out Wobbuffet (which is more that a simple Pokémon), they would both have 3 Pokémon and it wouldn't be too much.

I think that them returning permamentily is very unlikely (their time has gone...), but I would love to have them return from time to time, like Ash's Pokémon and the lab. But, so far, we haven't had a slim clue that that is a possibility... What do you think?

Maybe but Ash and co are getting more episodes than Team Rocket is at the moment.

Probably not. Wobbuffet was only brought back because of fan outrage over his removal in the first place, since he had become a crucial part of the main anime cast ever since Jessie obtained him (at least he was spared from the dork age that damaged the anime's reputation). And there hasn't been a time where either of them have more than three Pokémon onland. In fact, James went about 23 episodes without any Pokémon onhand at the beginning of "Best Wishes".

It would be interesting to see Mime Jr. return, at least, because of the species gaining the Fairy-type when X and Y were released in 2013. Maybe even return to evolve into Mr. Mime at last, because it knows Mimic. I miss it and Chimecho. I also miss the running gag of James' Grass-type Pokémon giving him affection (painfully) whenever they're let out of their Poké Balls. Why didn't Amoonguss also show affection to keep the running gag ongoing? It could've made the second half of "Best Wishes" slightly more tolerable. I'm glad his obsession with bottle caps was brought back in the "X & Y" series.

I also have full expectations that Gourgeist and Inkay will be given away at the end, as well, like with Woobat, Frillish, Yamask, and Amoonguss. I'd say the same on the others as well if it were not for Wobbuffet's appearance and eventual rejoining.

Just reading their names was like reopening an old wound  I would make all sorts of sacrifices to see them back in the show! Honestly the main reason I gave up on BW before it had even started was because I was furious that these pokemon were being unceremoniously dumped. Habunake remains one of the longest rostered pokemon, behind only Pikachu, Nyasu (who doesn't count) and Sonansu, but we don't even know what has happened to it!

Anyway, emotional torrent over (well not really...), I have tried to conjure up all sorts of excuses for how they could bring these pokemon back - I thought Manene may stand a chance in XY having been upgraded to fairy, but alas, no such thing has happened till now and it's unlikely to at this point. Given how much screen time and focus Maaiika and Pumpjin are getting it would be flipping difficult to justify Musashi and Kojirou regaining 2 pokemon apiece. I like PTOldMan's idea of them needing backup in the fight against TF but unless this arc really is stretched out for a few months, that just ain't gonna happen.

I really hope you're wrong, and hoping the three fake-out releases we've had in XY are an assurance that we will get some nice emotional farewell episodes next series. But I don't know if that is just wishful thinking, seeing as M&K have already paraded Maaiika and Bakeccha to Sakaki as captures made for the Team.

You do raise an interesting issue though - do we take it that their BW pokemon have the same status as the DP ones? The way the BW ones were donated made it seem as though they were for the use of the organisation & we have no idea under what circumstances they gave away their DP mons. Yes, Sonansu was hanging around essentially waiting for Musashi to return, but Sonansu was always treated as a kind of useless pokemon. Would the others have been put to use by the organisation? So many questions :cry::cry:

I don't see it myself, unlike the first 4 regions, I think Team Rocket are treating each new region the same as Ash, ie catching brand new Pokemon when there.
Inkay and Gourgeist will probably be gone at the end of this series.

If there was any chance for Seviper, Carnivine etc to come back, it was killed at the start of XY when Wobbuffet did make a return but they didn't. (Still love that episode when Wobbuffet appears in the corridor and sees Jessie and James have returned.

Sorry, not happening. Their time has passed.

Out with the old, in with the new! (products, that is)

Fan outrage over Wobbufett leaving, what? LOL, no.

Wobbufett left for BW obviously because TR became serious that series and he wouldn't work with their new persona. He was brought back for XY because TR went back to being silly and he's a mascot Pokemon, making him easier to return. It has nothing to do with "fan outrage" the writers don't do or not do things based on whiny teens on message boards.

If that were the case Charizard would still be on Ash's team right now.

No, but they do care about what the fanbase in Japan thinks. Am I wrong in thinking that the TRio went back to its old ways because of fans' displeasure? Are you telling me that the producers just decided to do an embarrassing U-turn on the role of the Rockets for the heck of it? No chance.

The same logic applies to Sonansu.

I miss them too. If I had to pick one of them though, it would be Manene. I loved its personality and how it always mimicked TR.

You do realize Charizard has been in the series, didn't appear on Satoshi's team until about DP, and returned in BW, right?

Mate, I like your Sonansu groove & welcome to bmgf, but unfortunately comparing Lizardon with any other pokemon is just not valid.

What about Chimecho too? It probably isn't sick anymore. It would really be cool for all of them to return, at least for a glimpse, but very unlikely. If they are just sitting at TR headquarters, its not like Jessie could get one of her Pokemon for the excuse of showcases, since that isn't what she is supposed to be pursuing. It would be very difficult for them to appear in the show other than if they were spotted within TR headquarters on a return at the end of a series, and that would be an even less satisfying encounter than seeing Ash's Pokemon at Oak's lab because it would have significantly less focus.

The thing here is that Chirean actually did get a decent send-off. I wouldn't be crying my heart out to see Habunake & co back if they had had the departure they deserved, even if it had been all together at TRHQ.

Exactly. Charizard is Number 2 on Pokémon's totem pole, just below Pikachu. Those other 4 aren't anywhere near as close.

Besides, it's not like the producers have ever especially cared about any of the TRio's Pokémon besides Meowth and Wobuffet. Heck, part of the time they went long stretches between appearances, let along making themselves useful.

Aww that's not fair! If you pay attention (hint: I do :p) most of the TRio's pokemon have had decent progression/exposition over the course of their tenure on the show.

I miss them all, Chimecho as well. :c

I feel like if one of them was to return, it should be Mime Jr. it just felt like a fifth member of the team.

Definitely.

The only ones I can recall without that is Woobat, Frillish, Amoonguss, and partially Yamask. The most undeveloped out of the 19 so far besides BW is legitimately Lickitung. The poor thing didn't even last 100 episodes. Comparing Lickitung's appearance to Wobbuffet's is hugely drastic.

Mewtwo.

I'd definitely second that.

It's my dream to just have Team Rocket suddenly call for them in one episode of XY without any lead up to it, a complete surprise.

Hell, bring in Woobat, Yamask, Frillish, and Amoongus too.

As much as I'd love for that to happen, I'd HIGHLY doubt that ever will happen. Heck, as if anyone remembers those four anymore.

The Unofficial Rule of Pokemon is that you're not Pikachu, Nyarth, Sonansu, or a comic relief and hype Pokemon, you're otherwise going to be treated like crap.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about Arbok/Weezing, we haven't seen those guys since 2002. I wonder if they're still roaming around one of those early Hoenn routes by Littleroot town. :/
