I think they will be in the XY series... :XD2:

Don't get me wrong, I loved them, but after BW's handling of TRio in general (not the serious or funny group difference so much as how they shifted the personalities so radically is what bugs me)...truth be told I'm a little apprehensive. My love for them has died down in recent years.
 
I think that they're definitely going to be in XY. Despite how they weren't in every episode of BW, didn't have much personality for a good chuck of it and they constantly went back and forth between being serious and being more comic relief, the Team Rocket trio are still popular characters. They had a radio drama, a live show and were used in ads for the newest movie. I don't think that they would do that for characters who weren't going to stick around. It isn't impossible for them to leave since I never thought that they wouldn't appear in every episode of BW, but it just seems really unlikely at this point.
 
So long as Ash is sticking around, Team Rocket is sticking around.

I'm not sure exactly since it's often used with Jessie and James, but I think that Meowth is still treated as an secondary mascot character of the franchise too. That would make it even less likely for Team Rocket to be written out if that's the case.

I hope so, as long as they aren't their boring BW selves.

IDK, I still think they'll be there, unless they're gonna pull off a goodbye episode in one of the last moments of DA!. At this point I don't even know if I would like to see them serious again. Maybe they'll just need to go forever *thinks of good ol' times watching Pokémon as a kid, laughing at Team Rocket's stupidness*
 
I wouldn't want them to be if they're not going to be like how they were in the OS. BW was such a great departure with their characters - writers, it's not like Rocket Gang being goofy was the problem, it was that they were shoehorned in every little scene. If their appearances weren't sporadic, yet not as frequent as before where it becomes an intrusion, and retained their characters that they were originally given, then that would have been cool. Of course, the writers (and the fans, to an extent) not focusing on the real problems isn't something new at all.

Oh, OS TRio. Back when they were actually funny and yet seemed serious enough to be actual characters. Good times, good times.

As far as the dub goes, IDK how I'll be able to stand Carter Cathcart's decline in his voice-work since DP for 3-4 years again. Survive it I must though. :/

99% chance the TRio will appear in the XY anime. But will they actually be a threat to Ash and his friends? That I don't know. The personality shift in BW changes everything about how they would be in XY. Would they have the same personality as they had post-League? I would most like them if they were a mix between serious and a bit goofy.

And Giovanni conveniently asks the TRio to try to take over Kalos or the TRio find some excuse to go there.
 
After the way they hyped up the Meloetta two-parter as Team Rocket's final mission and then just brought them back for Episode N with no mention of what happened after they went back to headquarters, that does make the idea of Team Rocket leaving even more unlikely to me. If they weren't going to bring them for XY, they would have saved that kind of promotion for the end of the series and actually keep their word that it was their last mission. I'm hoping that they'll keep their personalities. I'd be okay with Team Rocket not appearing in every episode of XY too, but as long as they have personalities, I'd be fine with them.
 
I strongly believe Team Rocket (along with Ash & Pikcahu) need to be retired. But I don't see either of them ever not being there.
 
I really want them to be in this ok they are so popular to me and they probably are and they just need tom be in it ok. Also if they are in it PLEASE BRING BACK Wobbuffet BECAUSE HE IS THE REASON WHY I GOT INTO POKEMON IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NEEDS TO BE BACK AND I WAS SOOO PISSSSSSSED OFF WHEN HE WAS NO LONGER IN BLACK AND WHITE.
 
They will be in it. If they wanted to write Team Rocket out of the series they could have done so with the Meloetta arc, or at least built up to some sort of leaving. Reverting them back to pre-BW was a step that wasn't necessary unless they were to stay for another series.

They've gone through some changes over the years, especially in BW, so they could easily change again in XY. Personally I want a big mix of everything so far.

-Battle competency (thank you BW)
-Not in every episode (thank you BW again)
-Have a personality (barring a couple of episodes, they were mindless zombies in BWS1 and S2)
-A series-long arc like Team Plasma. Not a series of short arcs. It just causes them to lose several times over the course of the series. TR have no achievements in Unova pre-league. In Sinnoh Jessie got 3 ribbons and the top 4, James got 1 ribbon. Hear that? DP TR HAVE MORE ACHIEVEMENTS THAN COMPETENT TR!
-A more direct competition with the game's teams. I realise the game's team has their own plot to get through and TR have to actually try to take over the region, but TR spent too much time playing with the weather and not enough time facing Plasma imo.
 
They're most likely to appear, and they're likely to do the same things as always. It's like they cannot use or focus on new villains, they always have to use the same ones again and again. Regardless, they should at least give them actual personalities than these emotionless drones we had throughout most of BW, and only recently brought them back to basics.
 
I think they have a good chance of showing up again. I hope they find a balance with their appearances. Like not as much as in DP, but a little bit more than BW. And for their personalities, I miss their goofiness and I hope there's a slight more focus on that part of themselves but retain their seriousness, especially in situations when it's necessary.

Now if they were to be in the series, one thing I hope for TR is the use of some of their old pokemon (depending on the regional dex if the writers want to be more true to that). I've been so used to seeing the likes of Wobbuffet that it'd be a nice throwback to see it again as the unofficial fourth member.
