Will the Hoenn Safari Zone return?

In the original games this was where you could get most of the older Gen 1/Gen 2 Pokémon that were available in Hoenn such as Pikachu and Wobbuffet. Do you think they will do something similar for catching older Pokémon in the remakes?

Yes, probably. Remember that Johto didn't have the Safari Zone at all in original GSC games, and then they added it to the remakes, so it's only logical to keep it in Hoenn, and maybe add the Friend Safari.

Replacing it with Friend Safari that'll open in the post-game would be a nice addition, though. A fair bit of my post X/Y play came from hunting in the Friend Safari.

I have a feeling the Friend Safari will take its place. The Safari Zone hasn't been a thing since HGSS. I think Game Freak has pretty much ditched the idea. The Friend Safari I think will be the new Safari Zone. I could be wrong though and honestly I hope I am. I prefer the Safari Zone.

My Safari Zone Wishlist:

1. Customizable Safari Zone a la HGSS
2. Exclusive areas via bikes like last time, different areas are unlocked depending on which tile is where
3. Side Friend Safari that acts like a regular Safari Zone (ie. each Pokemon has its own area, you can choose up to 5 friend's Safari Pokemon to populate that zone at a time.

With the Friend Safari i doubt it unless the pokemon in the Safari Zone also have a chance of having its HA, they could add a bunch of pokemon that aren't currently available in the Friend Safari into the Safari Zone. Johto and Unova starters please

It wasn't all that memorable to me. It had a few Pokemon I was somewhat interested in for Pokedex purposes, such as Girafarig and Xatu, but nothing usable for the team. I would rather have the Friend Safari stand in its place. Expand it to something more than a single patch of grass, too. Even the Pal Park was more interesting...

While I wouldn't mind the return of Safari Zones, I'd be totally fine if they replaced it with the Friend Safari instead. Just updating it to include Pokemon that weren't available in Friend Safari before, like maybe Hoenn, Johto and/or Unova starters, would be great. As long as they include new Pokemon so that the current Friend Safaris one has in X/Y aren't the same as what they could be in OR/AS, then I'd be happy with Friend Safari taking its place. Maybe making it available earlier in the game, rather than the post-storyline, would be nice too.

I don't think the main areas will change, but the post game ones could be altered into a Friend Safari.

Well, hell, I don't know what it's for.

Its purpose, in my eyes, it's to get pokemon with their HA more easily and also to get pokemon with perfect IVs more easily too, so it makes IV breeding easier.

I can see one of two things happening;
The Hoenn Safari is replaced with the Friend Safari, with ORAS' safaris being different to XY's one, OR...
The Hoenn Safari returns and the Friend Safari either doesn't show up or is an extra location in post-game.

That said, if it does return I want to be able to use other ball types. I hate the "RNG or it flees" aspect, especially if you run into the Shiny.

At the same time, Hoenn's safari holds a special place in my heart since my first ever shiny was caught there. The storm clouds gathered as I surfed the smallest lake, when suddenly a loud bellowing cry came out and a ferocious creature attacked me..."PsssssyyyyyyyyDuuuuuuuucK!!!"

Well, I probably should have worded that better. I didn't mean I thought they'd have the same Pokemon in both Friend Safaris, but I didn't see the point of adding an area to get Pokemon that don't naturally appear in Hoenn since you'd presumably be able to obtain them through X and Y~

My ideal situation would be to keep the Safari Zone on Route 121 and to have a Friend Safari on Ever Grande City (seriously just chuck a lot of things to Ever Grande City to make it bigger please).

Or! Have them both on Route 121, with one entrance leading to the traditional Safari Zone and the other entrance leading to the Friend Safari. Please just don't make me have to pay 500 Pokédollars to access the Friend Safari and have me limited to only 500 steps...
