Will there be a limited eddition 3ds XL?

I want to replace my 3ds xl. I really want a limited edition one with Pokemon on it. Do you think they will have one for this release and do you think it will be out on launch? or long after like the X&Y 3ds was?

Though I certainly hope so, I somewhat doubt it. I don't think (but don't quote me on this) there was a special edition DSi for HGSS either. If they do decide to release a special edition 3DS, I'll probably get the one with Kyogre (though if they could at least some more colours... the seafoam one is quite nice, but only available as a 2DS I think. A green one would be amazing as well)

Nintendo would have to be crazy not to create some special edition system for these games, given their inevitable popularity. The question is, will we see a 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, or two or more of the above? I wouldn't expect a new standard 3DS (since it seems that it's been all-but-abandoned as far as special editions are concerned), but the 3DS XL and 2DS are distinct possibilities that each have their own unique appeal, and I fully expect to see special edition versions of one or both.

Well I already have the Red XY special edition from last year. But, since it's RS (ORAS), I couldn't pass up on a new limited edition. So, I'd get the blue Kyogre one. That is, assuming they don't include both legends on the cover like they did with the XY limited editions.

But, I really hope they don't release them. Because I'd rather not shell out another $200 on a system I don't actually need. XD

Looking at the page Serebii have on the subject, this is accurate. However, we could argue that because they released a LE console with the original games, that they could release a updated special edition, this time with the newer forms. Which I do hope we see at some point.

True (something I didn't even know. If I had back in the day, I would probably have tried to get one). And if they don't release an updated limited edition 3DS, they still might release a case? (which would be nice as well)

I already have a Pikachu 3DS XL and the blue Pokémon X&Y one. I can't have a third.


Besides, since ORAS are not the main games of the gen, I doubt there will be ones for ORAS [unless Japan gets one ala that Charizard one]

The thing with XY was, there was the buzz about Pokémon arriving on the 3DS for the very first time (although the GBA SP received LEs for both R/S and FRLG). I don't see one happening personally, but I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do one (or two). I just hope that if they do, they're released for general retail instead of being exclusive to a raffle or something.

I did just buy a 3DS XL, so I'd be kind of disappointed. I definitely wouldn't be surprised, though.

I plan on buying an XL when I get Smash in October (which I think there will be a bundle for), but regardless the game, I think there will be a bundle for ORAS. But I don't want a bundle/special edition if the game bundled is a digital version.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo released a limited 3DS based on the ORAS mascots. While there is a high probability, which region(s) they would be available to is the question.

The thing is I already bought the X and Y 3DS back in October. I am not going to shell out another $200 for something I already have and I am certainly not going to trade it in. Now if the Charizard 3DS made it to the states, I would kiss my current 3DS goodbye, but for the ORAS mascots... nope! I'm keeping what I have.

I don't even really care about Rayquaza but I bet a green XL would look fantastic. I think I'd buy it in a hearbeat. Plus I had a bad dream the other night that my XL broke in half
