i was wondering with all this technology will pokemon make a real movie, with real people playing the characters or trainers and the pokemon will be graphically made.

If they ever made a movie like that I hope Shinji wil be seen

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

Well, a live action version will come one day whether I like it or not.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

Considering what Pokemon Live was like, I hope not. And look at what the live-action Dragonball movie looks like, do we really want to see that happen to Pokemon?

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

I just hope they're not like the Ben 10 live movies (....)

but, i'll look forword to a Digital Pokemon Made Movie, same as I'm lookin forword to a Halo movie

I heard of "Pokemon Live", but don't know much about that except that It was some sort of musical.

It was a musical that toured the US in 2000/2001, based largely on the first season of the anime. The soundtrack is incredibly rare (apparently you have to give a vital organ to get a copy), but highly sought after. A coupl songs from it were used in the credits of Pokemon Heroes.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

I think it's very unlikely, until Pokémon is over with. A throwback movie might be at least partially live action at that point. But hopefully we won't see that day.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

I would like to see how the writers can come up with a live action but I don't see it coming in the near future....

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

How would the Pokémon be portrayed in a live action movie? Muppets? Conspicuous CGI? People in costumes?

There's a reason why Pokémon has always stuck to 2-D animation.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

It might be as good as the super mario bros move *Shudder*

GOD NOOOOOOOOOOO

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

Yeeeeah let's hope not. XD I could kind of see it as "What are these fictional monsters from a video game franchise doing popping into reality!?" cornfest, which could be charming in its own way, but the Pokémon themselves would look awful and you know whatever kids they would cast would drive you up the wall. Thanks but no thanks.

It might be as good as the super mario bros move *Shudder*

GOD NOOOOOOOOOOO
That movie rocked.

I actually like the Mario movie-when you consider that the games had basically no plot anyway, it's not that bad.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

The Mario movie was a perfect game movie in a sense, but as just a movie, it was horrible.

And as for Pokémon, I hope that we won't see one. I can imagine it, and it doesn't look pretty. Especially if someone like Uwe Boll gets on the case.

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

I don't know what kind of plot it would be. Saying it would be like Pokemon Live isn't entirely fair due to the fact you can't do CGI pokemon on stage (at least, I don't think you can, but that would be awesome if that were possible). I wouldn't tweak the pokemon too much, just keep their animated shapes but add realistic texture to them. They're not supposed to look just like animals so revamping their looks to make them look "realistic" just wouldn't do.

I know, as much as I liked Forbidden Kingdom, that I don't want "real idiot kid having a Wizard of Oz moment". I want the reality of the world to be assumed ... that there is no "our world" and "their world" ... just "their world".

Re: will pokemon make a real movie?

I don't care how much precedent there is, I just don't think live action movies based on cartoons are a good idea. I mean, what's the point, really? They're never as good as the source material (more often than not, they're downright terrible), and most of the time, trying to render an animated world in live action just makes it look forced and unbelievable. I've seen enough examples of this to know that a live action "Pokémon" movie wouldn't come anywhere close to capturing the feel of the show.

And how come all of a sudden, this is a recurring topic? If people aren't talking about the end of the series, they're talking about bastardizing the series through a live action film. What is the deal with this sudden obsession everyone has with trying to screw this show up?

If the technology allows the animators to create creatures like King Kong or the Oliphants from Lord of the Rings, it must be possible to animate Pokémon.

I like the idea of a real Pokémon movie. I hope there will be one someday. But I think it's very unlikely that there's going to be one.

But just because they can do it, it doesn't mean that they should do it. Sure, a live action Pokémon movie could be the coolest thing ever, but I'm 90% sure that if they ever make one, it will be a complete disaster and will be panned by critics and fans alike.
