Come on, it's already GEN VI and attack moves are still monotypes. It really RIDICULOUS to still see a ground type attack like MUD-SHOT or BONE CLUB that can't attack a flying type. Logically you can do it on a bird (as long as you have aiming talents, you can).
Discuss if you want to see double type moves.

I have a hard enough time keeping up with all the possible type combinations with just mono type moves. The last thing I want to see is something that makes the game more confusing.

I want to see a few more, but i seriously hope they don't go overboard with them. Adding a bunch of double type attacks would make the game more confusing.

I'd like to see dual typed attacks work in a similar way to Psyshock's mechanics. So let's take an example from the first post with Bone Club. Bone Club is now a Ground/Fighting dual type move and would be listed as a Ground move (so Ground types get STAB on it) but it would deal Fighting damage similar to how Psyshock is a special move yet deals physical damage. So Bone Club is now a Ground move super effective on Steel, Rock, Ice, Dark and Normal, resisted by Bug, Poison, Fairy and Flying, and Ghost is immune to it.

I'd just prefer this method than the mish-mash jumble that is Flying Press's mechanics. It would open up more possibilities for some types to get better coverage moves too. (For example, a dual Grass/Ground move so Grass types could hit Steel + Fire types, for those that lack Earthquake.)

I don't think we should have loads (Psyshock-style moves are very few in number just the same) but it'd be nice to get more moves with interesting mechanics. Flying Press-style moves just don't interest me.

Freeze-Dry also deal super effective on Water.

So it technically could be counted as having double type, one Ice, one Electric (super effective)

Probably not, or at least not fully. Imagine if you could use a Grass/Water type move against a Rock/Ground type, that would be utterly OP.

Double-type moves sound unnecessarily complex.

I don't like having to remember the type matchups for Flying Press, and I'll probably like it less the more double-type moves there are.

Funny thing is, unless you're using Zeb's example above, giving Bone Club a second (or third or fourth or seventeenth) type will still not allow it to hit a Flying-type Pokémon.

Yeah, it sounds like artificial complexity to me. Difficulty should be implemented by strategies being opened up, like power herb+acrobatics. No-one wants to have to remember long lists. Heck, I struggle to remember parts of the type chart.

That said, the blatantly double-type moves could probably be made double type. Moves like fire punch and muddy water--I mean come on, it's in the name.

I see that most guys here don't want double type moves. If so, they should at least add more depth to the game...

or... people could just head for Freeze-Dry or Thousand Arrows effects.

IE:

This move also deal super effective to "type"

This move also hits opposing pokemon that are "blah"

Just add in the 2nd phrase mechanics into Bone Club with "blah" being "air"
or
Add in the 1st phrase to Muddy Water with the "type" being "electric"

all done, no real double typing needed.

They should at least give some attacks some special type. (adding this depth to the game is really complicated for a kids game).
For example if they add a special attack that can only be tought by someone special, like a "special" normal attack that deals massive damage to a ghost type? would that be awesome?(i think it's too complex)

Flying Press is a Fighting-type, and a Flying-type. I'm OK with dual-type moves, but I'm not going going to care, either way.

Dual-type attack moves would complicate gameplay in a manner that would not be fun or engaging to master.
