If Ash were to lose this league, would you give up on the anime entirely?

I mean, if Ash won, he could challenge the Elite Four, however, the 5th generation is calling, so who's to say Ash will be victorious.

I need to know from the fanbase, if they will continue to put up with Ash's hopelessness for another 4 years, when his performance in this league wasn't victorious.

If he doesn't win. It he does, so be it.

IMO, Conway and Nando are more qualified, but oh well.

He hasn't one a league yet. And I still watch. Why should now be any different?

though I do think it is a waste if they don't give us the E4 arc they've been alluding to.

The thing is, if Ash won a League, wouldn't the show end?

No. Champion =/= Pokémon master.

Edit: Originally I was going to choose "Who the hell cares about Ash" as I lost my interest about him, and to me, he is still a generic idiot shonen hero, but then again I remembered 6 on 6 battle Ash and Paul had, so I decided to choose "Yes, he sucks if he does lose".

No, because even if he wins a League, that doesn't mean he is a Master yet. From what we've know, being a Master is miles beyond even being a Champion. Some champs have been called masters but we've never seen a true, non-sepcified Master. So even if he wins this, Ash still has to beat an E4, a Champion adn then maybe enter some elite tournament that's held once in a decade or something to have a shot at the Mastership title.

In short, if he doesn't win the league with this awesome team he has gathered, he's a loser.

I don't think he will ever win a league, so not really. He hasn't before, and its still going strong. I do believe it will be a closer to a win though, like maybe top 4.

Maybe they will have a set off where everyone who made it into the top 16 or something elegible to battle the Elite 4.

Now excuse me, I don't want to offend anyone, but that's just stupid.

Why make the Top 16 elegible to battle the E4? We've been shown that the Elite 4 are one of the toughest out there, if reahing Top 16 was considered enough to have any chance of beating them, then Ash would've challenged the Kanto E4 long ago.

Plus, everytime we've seen Ash battle an E4 member, he was always flat-out annihilated. Heck, even Paul's Torterra managed to hit with a Frenzy Plant Cynthia's Garchomp and it did what? Scratch it?

What's interesting to me isn't the results, it's the journey. If Ash has some amazing battles and shows that he learned something throughout Sinnoh, I don't care that whether or not he wins the League.

I want to see Ash push himself, use his pokémon to their fullest, more than I want him to get this or that ranking and no matter what, I'll be back for gen V

No, it was already established in previous episodes that only the winner of the League can challenge the Elite 4 and with DP's track record with continuity, that's still valid

That's a bright way to look at things.

I believe I owe some an apology.

Forgive me if my past posts appear as spam, I just have very strong opinions.

I am trying to grow and learn my lesson from Serebii, so I ask and thank you all for giving me a chance. :)

No xDU I'm sure that he won't win this league , but someday, maybe in 6th or 7th generation he will win the league and Pokemon will end :)

If he doesn't win, I will continue to watch. It's the characters, not the accomplishments that motivate me to watch the show.

I voted for the last option on the poll.

I know you did, lol.

I do hope that Ash continues to grow. He isn't the worst trainer, but he could do a lot better.

I just don't get excited when Ash is in a battle, or when he is, I'm more excited to see his opponent, since the majority of battles on this show revolve around him.

I totally agree, I love how in DP we've seen Ash expand his battling style, with contest-like moves thanks to his friendship with Dawn and how he's been really part of the training of his pokémon like with Buizel learning Ice punch, Turtwig learning energy ball, Staravia learning brave bird, Gible and Draco meteor and INFERNAPE. As long as those relationships recieve focus and are shown to help Ash in the League, I couldn't care less if he wins or not, cause we'll have gotten some great battles along the way.

That being said, as I've always said, Ash needs to beat Paul with Pika, Bui, In, Tor, Star and Gible.

If Ash doesn't challenge the E4, it'll feel like everything we watched went nowhere. Who is Ash to lose to in the league?

Nando or Conway.

Zoey beating Nando has nothing to do with Ash. Zoey beat Ash too.

So, by that logic, it is even isn't it.

Lol, I love biased as hell poll options (not so much insulting ones). (Scott Answer Here). Love it.

I'll still watch, I'll be disappointed but I'll get over it.......eventually.

Zoey barely beat Ash in a contest battle (of course now Zoey would kick Ash's ass in contest battles).

This is very different than contests though. Only Conway has shown to be a great battler. So between Nando and Conway to beat Ash if he has to lose to either of them, let it be Conway.

You're a die-hard Ash fan right? But it won't be the end of the world.

I would find it hilarious if Ash and Paul tie, or if Ash ties with anyone.

If its true that I'm a die hard Ash fan it's only because I associate best with Ash than any character.

So for example if Ash's Grotle evolves, it feels like my Grotle evolves.

Yes I know that makes me weird, but I don't care. It also probably doesn't help that I don't have a life.

No, that's fine. It actually adds more excitement I guess.

I feel the same way about Dawn this saga.

Her story from tragedy to triumph is very inspirational, and I can feel her emotions in a sense.
