William Hurt Joins Hulk 2 Cast

He was Sam Elliott before, but coming up in the next Hulk movie, General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross will be played by William Hurt, this according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The casting news for The Incredible Hulk is the latest in the wholesale change-out of the cast from the Ang Lee-directed Hulk to the upcoming Louis Leterrier-directed film, due to be released in 2008. Replacing Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly, respectively, Edward Norton will play Bruce Banner, while Liv Tyler will play Betty Ross. Tim Roth will play Emil Blonsky/the Abomination.

The script of The Incredible Hulk was written by Zak (X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four, X2) Penn, with Avi Arad, Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Feige producing. Jim Van Wyck, David Maisel, Ari Arad and Stan Lee are listed as executive producers.

The Incredible Hulk is slated to begin filming in Toronto this summer.

...C'mon. William Hurt? Sam Elliott was the only reason to watch the first one...and they're getting rid of him? Of the four casting announcements...I've only liked one. The plot had better be great.
