Well in the last episode in Japan, Jessie threw away her Contest Outfit after seeing Dawn lose. So can this mean that there wont be Contest in the Isshu Region? Since Jessie usually does contest as long as the Main Character does contest I know it may sound a little stupid but what do you think?

That's what many people are trying to figure out right now.
People think its either

A. No contests next saga
Or
B. New idenity for Jessie

Which seems more possible? Me thinks A.

Most likely they are just scrapping the whole Jesslina gimmick.

Maybe have her do Pokeathlon?

I personally think she will just get a new personality.

I noticed this and thought the same thing. One thing's for sure, Jesselina won't be in next saga.

Does this mean contests are done? Possibly. I hope so.

I'm 95% sure it's a huge hint they're getting rid of contest. It wouldn't make sense for her to make up a completely new disguise. In the past it was revealed she was a member of TR, that didn't happen with Candy Musalina, so the only reason I can see them having her ditch the costume is because they're ditching contests. They had a shot that kinda lingered on her clothes on the ground, so it really means something.

:O Maybe she will do Pokeathlon and the main character will be a Pokeathlete aswell

Best Regards,
Mark

That means Dawn in the GF just beat someone who always lost to her, and someone who no longer exists.

That's the writer telling you they are in control.

I wouldn't have a problem with it, frankly - I'm really really hoping that contests get retired in Generation V. They've had a good run, but I don't think I want to see a third contest arc, and the Pokéathlon is the perfect thing to replace them with. Plus, the way GenV girl is designed, she doesn't look like your sterotypical feminine coordinator - she's got this sporty tomboyish look to her that seems a lot more athletic.

No, cuz from the last episode Jessie said if Dawn won against Zoey that'd make her loss a lot better. Some thing in those words, so like I said either no contests next saga or new idenity. I agree with the person above who said it wouldn't make sense for Jessie to have a new ideinity, she pushed herself through so much in her old one. She got soo many compliments, does not make sense. Course, my opinion.

After taking another look I actually saw that! Good eyes.

As long as they completely revamp Pokethlon, cause what it was in DP160 was completely awful. If they make it with teams of pokemon like it is in the games it would be much better.

Idk what Jessie would look like competing in the pokethlon, but it would be refreshing instead of contests. They really got annoying in DP.

They could use James instead of Jessie if they ever go the Pokethlon route in BW.

Many people are inferring from this that there will be no contests in the fifth gen games, and as a result, will be omitted from the Black and White anime coming this fall.
I knew it was strange that Jessie was competing in this Grand Festival and had her collecting ribbons whereas she hadn't received one in the two previous arcs.

Character wise its stupid to see Jessie give up contests simply because Dawn lost, (why would she care that much?), but if they aren't going to do them next arc, I guess that's that.

I want someone to tell me specifically in with line Jessie said that she was going to quit contest.Original line with translation and all.
Throwing her dress in the air doesn't mean anything,as she changes them every saga.

She was mad that Hikari lost, not because she lost.

I think contests will stay.

As for the Jessie thing, it's not a clue. People see what they want to see, People who hate contest say it's a clue to the end of contests in the anime, those who want contests to stay, think it'll mean she gets a new identity. I can't see Jessie do Pokéathlon and even if the writers add teams to it... it's still spending an episode watching Pokémon dash hurdle or throw snowballs at one another... No thanks...

Quite frankly, it wouldn't really make sense for Jessie to quit contests character-wise and this episode really didn't feel like the writers were saying goodbye to contests. If that's the final contest, it's a slap in the face to contests in general !

No shut up omfg. D: Jessie ISN'TTTTTT QUITTINGGGGGG. There ISSSSS going to be contests.

And that's that. >=o

She said "Forget this! Going back to capturing Pikachu!" Can't remember EXACTLY what she said (I was always yelling or friends were talking during that line. I've only watched the ep 3 times).

But she says NOTHING about quitting contests. Just "forget this." Yeah, this arc is done. Next region she'll get a new persona and go back to doing contests again. Like usual. WITH DAWN.

Jessie angrily threw her contest outfit on the floor, and the camera spent a good 5 LONG seconds simply focusing on it and nothing else. I always said it was unlikely to see three coordinator characters in a row, (I'm sure Dawn's leaving too), so I guess this is it.

Does it make little sense? Yep. Will it be done for advertising purposes, with a new quest likely replacing Contests? Seems likely.

Welcome to the Pokemon anime.

Why would Jessie stop coordinating when she made it this far? She'll just create a new persona and enter Isshu's contests with it.

It's pretty stupid to think that contests are going to be dropped at this point in the show, IMO.
