I just had this battle today on Shoddy, and it is easily the best one I have had. I just made this new team, deciding to go back to OU after Salamence was banned to try out the new metagame. This was the second battle with my new team. The first resulted in a 5-0 sweep by Breloom and me being called cheap.

Anyway, here we go, my first warstory against rennie101. His team will be posted at the bottom.

rennie101's moves will look like this.
Dexington's moves will look like this.
other text will look like this.
Scores will be shown after each KO.

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause
rennie101 sent out Aerodactyl (lvl 100 Aerodactyl ?).
Dexington sent out Alakazam (lvl 100 Alakazam ?).

So, here we go. I run an anti-lead Zam on this team with a lum berry. He leads with an Aerodactyl, a Pokemon I never quite understood. I can guaruntee he will either Taunt or set up Stealth Rock, and either way the best choice is to go with a Psychic.

Aerodactyl used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
Alakazam used Psychic.
Aerodactyl lost 71% of its health.
---

So he set up Stealth Rocks and he's faster than me, so he knows I'm not choice scarfed. He will definately attack now, so I switch to my best Aero counter.

Dexington switched in Bronzong (lvl 100 Bronzong).
Pointed stones dug into Bronzong.
Bronzong lost 6% of its health.
Aerodactyl used Stone Edge.
It's not very effective...
Bronzong lost 20% of its health.
Bronzong's leftovers restored its health a little!
Bronzong restored 6% of its health.
---

Bronzong tanks the stone edge. I have two choices here, I could go for a Stealth Rock right now, or finish him off with either attack that isn't Earthquake. Taking him out is the best idea, as if he taunts I have wasted a turn. I go for the Gyro Ball.

Aerodactyl used Taunt.
Bronzong fell for the taunt!

rennie101 switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).

Down goes Aerodactyl, though that's his whole purpose I guess. In comes Breloom. Now, I am still taunted with Bronzong and none of my attacks will A) strike first or B) OHKO Breloom. So I switch to the one thing I know can take the Spore.

Dexington switched in Alakazam (lvl 100 Alakazam ?).
Pointed stones dug into Alakazam.
Alakazam lost 12% of its health.
Breloom used Spore.
Alakazam fell asleep!
Alakazam's Lum Berry cured its Sleep!
Breloom was badly poisoned!
---

Exactly as planned. Breloom always Spore first. I decide to go for the Psychic here as I don't know what else he has on his team. If he stays in, Breloom's gone, if he switches, I hopefully dent something.

rennie101 switched in Cresselia (lvl 100 Cresselia ?).
Alakazam used Psychic.
It's not very effective...
Cresselia lost 15% of its health.

Cresselia restored 6% of its health.
---

I did not expect Cress though. She shrugs off the Psychic and I am not sure what to do. I hadn't faced many of these before, so I'm unsure as to what it is running. After looking at the analysis, I bring in Heatran, thinking that Cress can't really hurt it.

Dexington switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran ?).

During that entire stall war, I was analyzing when he was using Moonlight to heal and predicted that he would do so this turn. I go to Bronzong who hopefully can survive a +5 Shadow Ball.

Bronzong goes down, and as was the plan earlier, Gyarados will come in to clean up on Cress. I do run an offensive DD Gyarados, but I can't DD now or he will KO me with Psychic, whether or not he thinks he's Tormented still. Waterfall will do it.

Dexington switched in Gyarados (lvl 100 Gyarados ?).
Gyarados's Intimidate cut Cresselia's attack!
Pointed stones dug into Gyarados.
Gyarados lost 25% of its health.

rennie101 switched in Machamp (lvl 100 Machamp ?).

In comes Machamp. I can't switch in Alakazam, because any attack from a Champ will easily KO a Zam. I decide to go for the DD, hoping he isn't packing Stone Edge.

Gyarados used Dragon Dance.
Gyarados's attack was raised.

And then he reveals that he does indeed have Stone Edge. Why he didn't use it in the first place is beyond me, but it doesn't matter. I make up for the previous hax by destroying myself. In comes Alakazam to clean up the mess.

Dexington switched in Alakazam (lvl 100 Alakazam ?).

Steelix's leftovers restored its health a little!
Steelix restored 6% of its health.
---

He switches in his unrevealed Steelix to take the Psychic, which still does a very decent amount of damage. I run HP ground on my team to hopefully deal with any Heatran who think they can beat Zam, and I know it'll be able to KO Steelix if Psychic did 36%

Alakazam used Hidden Power.
It's super effective!
Steelix lost 70% of its health.
rennie101's Steelix fainted.
(3-4)
---
rennie101 switched in Dugtrio (lvl 100 Dugtrio ?).

Steelix is dead, and in comes revenge killer extraordinaire Dugtrio. I assume that I won't be able to switch out due to Arena Trap and go for the Psychic, knowing that I'm screwed here.

Dugtrio used Sucker Punch.
It's super effective!
Alakazam lost 75% of its health.
Dexington's Alakazam fainted.

Dexington switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).

Alakazam goes down valiantly and I bring in Breloom, hoping to Spore that Dugtrio or his Machamp.

Pointed stones dug into Breloom.
Breloom lost 6% of its health.
rennie101 switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).
Breloom used Spore.
But it failed!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom was badly poisoned!
---

And I forgot about his Breloom. This is an interesting matchup. I don't want anything to take a Spore now or be Focus Punch bait if he gets a sub up instead. I decide to go for a sub of my own. For the purposes of this next part, I will remove colouring so you guys get the same effect I did.

As I say in game, ZOMG! I really did have 1 HP left. Now you know why this is called "with the roll of a dice". Now it's just Heracross and Heatran vs. Breloom. Megahorn and CC have the same base power, so I go with Megahorn, assuming that it will have enough to KO Breloom, who is at full health. I can't switch, or Heatran gets spored and I lose anyway.

Had I switched there, I would have won, due to the sleep clause. Heatran would have stayed awake and KO'd with lava plume. But I really didn't think he would have done something that dumb. I keep trying to break the sleep now so that Heatran won't have to deal with this inevitable substitute.

Now, after this match I went and checked the damage of my Heracross' Megahorn against the standard SporePunching Breloom.

Megahorn does 95.5% to 112.5% damage. This battle was THAT close to being won for me. Either way, it was a great battle and thank you to my opponent for giving me my best match yet!

Props
-A decently low amount of Hax throughout the game.
-Alakazam for successful use of his lum berry.
-The entire Bronzong/Cresselia/Heatran situation.
-His Breloom for finishing it up in the end.
-Dugtrio, for revenge killing successfully.

Slops
-Me, for not trying to switch out of Dugtrio and not using Torment on Machamp when I had the chance.
-Him, not realizing when Torment was over.
-The entire Gyarados/Machamp situation. Bad hax and he didn't use Stone Edge for some reason.
-Heracross, for not being able to KO Breloom.
-Steelix, for doing absolutely nothing.

Re: With the Roll of a Dice (OU Warstory)

close match, but alot of mistakes on your part, for letting cress Cm that much and that you probably should have switch your heatran in and won. Because you kept hera in, you had no chance of winning at all. He wasnt that much better. THe only reason you had a chance was because he forgot to give dugtrio area trap. However interesting ending, a props for choosing a loosing battle to war story.
