World of Warcraft

Used to.
Gave it up once I realised that it had completely corrupted both my best friend and two other very close friends. They now live on that game. In fact, it's so bad that they physically run down and grab food/drink and literally consume it everytime their playing character needs food/drink to restore health and mana.

My best friend hasn't contacted me in almost two years now. The first of which was when he was studying and the second was his gap year, which he spent all 365 days of playing WoW. So, yeah. World of Warcraft ruined my best friend and I'm actually pretty glad it did.

How come you are?

It didn't ruin me, infact I enjoy it but the game has gotten pretty boring lately so I'm taking a break untill the next expansion.

Always managed to keep a line beetwen personal life/school and WoW

It's good that you did that, but that's what all three of them managed to not do. They now have no personal life and in fact, tried using their school laptops to install and play WoW on for Science. Fortunately they couldn't because the laptops had insufficient memory, but.

Some people manage to find a good balance between gaming and living. They however, did not. Also, how come I are what?

I haven't. On purpose, I would be an addict, I was addicted to Travian for a while, thankfully Gerard Müller (the creator) made it so that the game restarts after a year and thus it is much more of a competition than what WoW can ever be. After realizing how much I had lost the two years I played I decided not to continue and to never sign up on MMO games ever again.

And to bad whit your friends, Luxio, I would prolly have become like them if I had started.

I tried it for 10 days; however, I decided that I didn't want to spend what little money I have on the game. If it was free, I probably would play it. Yeah, I'm cheap like that. >.<

Off-topic: I have been playing Ghost X lately though. I kinda forces you to play casually because after you gain a certain amount of experience each day, there is virtually nothing to do. You will only gain like, 1/5 of your regular exp, and drop rates are halved. You have no choice but to leave and come back the next day. On the weekends, however, you're able to gain more exp and the exp you didn't gain on the weekdays are added to your weekend stock. I love the game though, since I only play casually anyways.

WoW fucked up my friend >:O

This.

I would never play WoW even if all my friends play it (which most of them don't, thank god.)

Most people I see mostly freak out if they lose somewhere particular in the game and start getting violent and shit. For example, if you look up on youtube, some guy actually owned his monitor when he found out his GF deleted all his characters on WoW. o.o

I remember playing on a private server before. It was sorta fun for a while but it got a bit repetitive after a while so I simply stopped playing.

I know the OP is from 2010 and may not even play WoW anymore, but HOLY SHIT. How likely is it that there would not only be a thread about WoW on here, but that the OP is from *my* server?!

Terokkar (before the recent merge, yay for that btw) had about 6000 people total out of the millions that play the game. It's so unlikely to encounter a fellow Terotard here!

Anyway, I obviously play the game, or at least I did until about a month ago. Now I'm just playing my trial account and on a private server because I can't be assed to pay. The addiction is strong, though. I didn't think it would be.

I played from 2008-2013. I was just getting bored, and wanted to play something different. I was going to give it a second chance, but all the changes coming in the upcoming expansion don't appeal to me. Besides, I pre-ordered WildStar, which looks really good.
