What do you think the world we live in today would be like if we never existed. By us I mean the human race. Would our world be cleaner, would it prosper what do you think?

Well there would be a lot more cows I bet...

Seriously, I bet the world would be a better place without human interference.

Well, there would be more oxygen in the atmosphere, far less "greenhouse gasses" by what I have learned about the UK, there would be bears, wolves and bigger deers romaning around there.

There would be more fish thats for sure, and the pnalet would not be as hot as it is now. Hmm...many species could prosper without us here, but a few can't really survive without our help, even when left to their own devices. I kow of one species of butterfly that can't survive in overgrown grasland and only can be found in managed grassy areas.

There would be hundreds of more miles of forest everywhere I can guess and no concrete anywhere. The world would be better without us more than likley

I don't think it would be a better place, because we're a key part of the ecosystem. If you killed off any other widespread animal, then it would have dramatic effects, and I think it would be the same with humans, really.

But I do agree with your points about deforestation and more cows ^_^

Surely cleaner air, wider spaces, much of animals, more plants, and more ice caps.

And of course most herbivores would have to live in fear of carnivores that naturally would hunt down and kill them. But then again, that's the food chain.

I suspect that without us, some other species (other apes, elephants, octopi, parrots or ravens) would have evolved to sentience by now and be doing the same things we're pretty much doing now.

would be a profoundly different place. not in a good way, or a bad way, just different. And elephants would rule the world. Smartest animal ever.

An "Animal Farm" future? That would be interesting.

Any one of those, (except for Octopi since they're in the ocean) but I think only one sentient species could exist on Earth at a time.

Homo sapiens and neanderthals lived side-by-side for quite a while in Europe.

I'm not sure I agree about the more cows bit, especially since humans have bred cows A LOT so that we can eat them, but who knows? Cows have evolved to rule the world, or they could be extinct ;)

I also wonder how the human race could have been prevented from existing, short of killing the ancestors with the human-ish mutations. Enlighten me please.

it just sort of mixed together. it's kind of like when you put ice cream and pizza in the blender. sure, the blender starts making odd noises, and occasionally you break a blade, but in the end you have some thing truly horrible unique. yeah, that's the word...

I would not exist; the world would suck.
