What is the worst Animé artwork you've seen in Pokémon?

I have to say it's Hippowdon. The Animé art of it looks awful.
 
Episode wise Kinoshita usually makes everything look... shitty

and Shimura always tends to screw Shinji up. Both the Kurogane episode and the Pikachu episode he didn't look too great. Iwane does him the best.

However, aside from Kinoshita, there's an animator called Natsume who has mad e the worst art of DP so far, even worse than Hippowdon: Electabuzz in DP 69.

Argy, who the hell animated that episode? Charizard was so completely ruined by that animator :/

I agree, the Hippowdon episode was horribly animated (the part where it "charges" was just sad.

Yeah, but Brandon Episode 1...-_-

That has to be the worst art I have ever seen in my life. This episode loos like something even Kinoshita would not draw or touch. Seriously, their binoculars looked like rectangles!
 
With reguard to those electabuzz pictures

Whew, good thing Paul doesn't have small pokemon on his roster anymore. I AM concerned aout Weavile though.

I really feel like the Aipom Buizel trade ep was very poorly animated. Any time there was a character in the background they had pretty much no expression.

When he/she isn't doing Shinji episodes, that is.
Shimura did a badly animated episode in Johto. The one with Rochelle, gosh, that was AWFUl.

*squiiiiiiint* They have binoculars? I don't see them at all...mostly because the picture looks to be smaller than an LJ icon. Do you have a larger version?
 
The Master Quest episode before Tie One On, forgot the title. It was just... painful to watch.
 
Yeah, the animation when it first switched to computer animation was pretty ugly looking.

On the other hand, by Johto the handrawn style just got old and ugly as well.

The ep before that was the one where Squirtle battled Macy, I didn't think that ep looked bad. You might be thinking of the ep before that, where Ash battled Furret with Pikachu.

As much as I agree with you, there are still some beautifully bright screenshots out there

but once they got to Houen, the brightness just vanished.

I don't know where to find larger versions. And yes, their bionaculars looked like freakin rectangles. Not to mention the artist completely dulled Meowth's coin. Even in night, most competent animators would make his coin have some luster.

Like I said this guy is worse than Kinoshita.

That was the first real ep of Pokémon I watched after I quit watching the series in OO. I missed out 3 seasons.
 
Deadly Arbok, do you know what episode that screencap was from? I have a lot of episodes and I know where I could get more so I could get a bigger version and look throughout the episode for more bad shots and we could identify this bad animator from Bulbapedia.
 
It was called 'Gathering the Gang of 4"

Crystal Clair: Other than Shimmuera ruining Paul, do you still like her as an animator. I have to admit she must be one of(if not the)best animators on the show. Iwane is a very close second, but his art is sometimes more geared towards the goodfy fashion.
 
Pretty much any picture in "Gathering the Gang of Four"

That and most of Taguchi's (Despite him doing 2, three when the next ep airs) works. He has his moments, but when you produce this monstrocity:

And to one of my favorite Pokemon, no less, that's where I cross the line. He just can't keep his art consistent.


And the fuckups in the aforementioned "Badly animated ep:"

市川雅也 Masaya Ichikawa
平川亜喜雄 Akio Hirakawa

Bulbapedia listed two of them.
