My top 2:

People wearing T-shirts of old rock bands- I'm wearing a (insert band name here) T-shirt! Yeah but can you name anything by them? I remember some teacher or counsellor telling me to wear my Duran Duran because it was in...

Going green- Do I need to explain this one?

Lol, I agree with the going green one. I mean, I'm all for helping the environment and all, but I'd prefer to not have lightbulbs that release toxic fumes if they break ;)

worst one: addias sandals and socks. they look dorky.

Me too. Do you mean those squiggly shaped bulbs? My main reason for hating the whole "going green" thing is 1) That it took the world nearly 30 years to actually give a shit and 2) It's gotten so overblown and 3) Isn't human rights a WAY bigger issue?

My science and tech 11 teacher made us watch Al Gore's movie, something that's proven to have a few problems. Plus I'd rather be writing a story than watching that...

I'm fine if someone is helping the environment as long as they don't shove anything down my throat

Wearing baggy pants with the belt below the knees. Seriously, what the f*ck is wrong with people who do that...

Tight Pants. ugh. It must hurt if the guys wearing them gets excited ;)

Aww. I like Going Green!

Everything from the 80s is f'in' hilarious... but there are only two fads I can remember going through that I actually recognize as fads, and that is Pog and Virtual Pets. But I don't know if I want to completely call them lame. I remember having some pretty spiffy pogs and the virtual pet thing was cool although annoying with the first ones that you couldn't turn off. (sure they go to sleep around 9, but they wake up at 7 in the the morning, WTF, I don't need no little beeping mouth telling me when to wake up on a Saturday morning! Those things can just roll over and die! On that note, I don't think I actually ever kept a v.pet alive for more than a few days...)

I always wear Band T-shirts, mostly rock bands from the 60s/70s...but I actually listen to these bands and own their albums. Unlike the massive amount of teenagers wearing Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin t-shirts who don't even appreciate their music >_<.

My least favorite fad has to be suburban white-kids wearing African-American influenced urban clothing. You're not from the hood, kids, get over it.

Exactly what I mean. Half of the kids at my school wear T-shirts of old bands and then I wonder how many of them actually know anything about those bands. I have a Duran Duran T-shirt and I actually like their music and have been to one of their concerts

Hmm, I miss some of my band shirts that I bought back in the day... though I would only (and still with newer ones in my collection) put a band on my chest or back if I liked them. I mean, it would be cool if someone saw me in my Ween shirt (which was stolen by an old roommate, pissed me off because it was for a 6-show tour that I was able to catch them playing one of the nights of) and said "oh cool you like them too?" Then I could have a conversation with someone about a band that we both liked.

Also, I think it would be pretty lame to have a shirt on, and have someone walk up to you and say "oh man, I've loved that band for years! Let's talk about them," and have to reply with "oh man, I only know one song from rockband (or guitar hero)."

I also do agree with "going green" sometimes being a bit overdone. It is a good concept, and we need to protect our environment, but I don't think that I'm going as far as to bring cloth bags into the grocery store with me, or other things like that.

Swallowing live goldfish, as was the fad in the '50s.

That just reminded me of that promotion Six Flags had a few years ago, where people could get in for free if they ate a live cockroach.

Until I actually got one, I thought Facebook was an annoying fad. But as for current ones, I'd say reality TV. Sure, there are good shows like America's Most Wanted, but most of it is trash. And where do they come up with these stupid ideas? I really couldn't care less about Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey and their "happy" life together.

What's so wrong with wearing another culture's clothing? I mean, they wear tshirts and jeans all over the world in places those aren't native to...
It's not so much the clothing I dislike, it's more often the attitude that goes with it.

I listen to old music myself, mainly ALOT of 80s stuff from Europe. I do listen to 90s and 00s stuff but it's mostly Christina Aguilera, Euro-pop and Asian pop (Weiss Kreuz, Seeya and various others)

I have to say though that the "reality tv" on Discovery is actually educational as well as entertaining. I'd take that over the crap the major networks have been passing off as reality tv for years... so there is some good reality tv, but you just have to know where to find it.

I wouldn't say all reality TV on the Discovery and partner networks are educational... some are more educational in a "game show trivia" sort of way... I'm looking at you Ice Road Truckers and Axe Men!

(so if you call that educational...)

I don't know, actually I had no idea really that band t-shirts were really a fad. I thought they were kind of always around, only the bands change over time on what people like. (I know I still like and wear my band t-shirts)

Crocs. You know those stupid little plastic clogs that suddenly appeared in every shop? ARGH.

Also, André Rieu. He has overtaken the music DVD section of every store I can think of and it drives me up the wall.

I agree, but by the same token, I wear Beatles t-shirts all the time (I have around 7 different ones.) I've had people (once or twice complete strangers) come up to me and give me shit for being a "scene kid" because I don't follow retro bands. It really shits me that band t-shirts are associated with that "faux-retro" fad going around. The Beatles happen to be my absolute favourite band of all time, but I digress.

It's nothing about "retro," it's just way too easy to love the Beatles. Seriously.
