Hi,

Because I'm bored (and I can) I want to make a team of the worst pokemon in the games and do a play through of Omega ruby using only those pokemon. Can anyone help me out as to which these may be (excluding Delibird and dunsparce because they are deffo 2 of the worst)? I'm gonna exclude ones which evolve into awesome pokemon (e.g. Magikarp because gyarados rocks).

Dunsparce is not one of the worst for an in-game run. I get it has this stigma attached to it and it's hardly a game breaking Pokemon, but it has decent bulk, Roost, Glare and Coil. I'm using one in a current playthrough (with Double-Edge/Roost/Glare/Coil) and I'm actually really surprised of how... decent it is. You just Glare everything and Coil up. There are honestly worse Pokemon.

As for suggestions:

Luvdisc, it's fast, but really frail and weak can't see it doing much.
Unown, it only gets a grand total of one (weak) move and you'll have to work it out its typing so it might not even have STAB.

Male Combee is also an option if you're open to the idea. And I suppose Smeargle could be interesting just because you're up against luck when attempting to Sketch things against AI and its stats aren't great at all.

Basculin sucks, Luvdisc is so much worse than Dusnsparse, Unown is about as useful in a fight as cold alphabet soup, Farfetch'd isn't anything to write home about. That's about all I can think of for now.

Fair enough - I've honestly never used it but a lot of people have told me it is :/ I'll have to try it at some point. I completely forgot luvdisc...

Plenty of early-route bug Pokemon. Kriketune comes to mind as being a particularly lackluster fully-evolved Pokemon, but I'm sure there are plenty others that might be better (or, worse, rather).

Aside from that, some good suggestions were given above. All I can think of now are Pokemon that I like and wish would be better, like Chimecho, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's in the bottom of the barrel, as you're looking for.

Yeah, I was the same and didn't think it would amount to much before using it tbh. It's one of those judge a book by its cover examples (though in terms of the metagame I'm sure it's horrible, but in-game it's fine). It's not the best thing since sliced bread but I think including it with Delibird, Luvdisc, Unown and the alike is a little too harsh on the poor thing lol

Farfetch'd isn't anything to write home about.

This reminds me of way back when my brother completed his initial run of Blue version with a level 70 or so Farfetch'd on his team. Unfortunately, Dux wouldn't get it done these days.

Actually I beat Lance with a Dunsparce in my team. It's not bad at all in game. It's possible evolution has potential.

My worst pokemon team would be: Ledyba, Unown, Chatot, Male Combee, Delibird, Luvdisk

How about Ditto? I had not yet seeing people ever mentioned using Ditto in battle. The most is only in the Daycare Center.

By looking at the BST, Spinda is also low. BTW, Chatot was actually stronger than Spinda!

And if you are not tending to trade in this playthrough, Karrablast, Shelmet, Spritzee, Swirlix, Phantump and Pumpkaboo may also add to your list.

Ditto with Imposter can be really useful. As with the consensus here, Dunsparce is actually quite useful with Serene Grace. I've seen people dominate the typical OU team with him.

Now Unown; goddamn, that thing blows. It has to be the most worthless Pokemon of all time. Only one move with a base power of 60 and you're not even guaranteed to get the type you want. If its Hidden Power isn't Psychic, don't expect STAB damage. It's base stats are atrocious and it cannot learn any TMs, HMs, or egg moves. It only exists to amuse you by spelling junk with it (I had fun spelling obscene words because I'm an immature twit) and to create different plots for the anime.

Thanks for all the input guys :)
Right, I think I've got the team (I'm gonna have them from the start): Unown, Male Combee, Ledyba, Luvdisc, delibird and Spinda
If you want I'm happy to post updates of my progress with my disaster of a team!

Unown and Delibird have only one move in their moveset but Delibird can learn tms and have egg moves. Male Combee has about only four moves and can't evolve but it is useful for horde searching. Dunsparce is not that strong of a pokemon and is hardly usable. Magikarp is terrible before evolution since it has only Splash, Tackle and Flail in move set. Feebas is slightly bad but has access to tms and egg moves. Most fairy type pokemon (except Xerneas, Diancie, Mega Altaria and Arceus with Pixie Plate) are pretty bad because a lot of them are not usable in my opinion.

Off the top of my head:

Sunkern -> Sunflora: low base stats
Luvdisc -> just bad all around, no evo
Unown -> one move (even if you could luck into a good attacking type like ice or fighting, the base stats still suck)
Delibird -> gimmick with terribad stats

I think that people tend to underestimate the early bugs for the most part. Like Beedril and Butterfree... yeah they aren't going to be OU anytime soon, but you could easily get through the main game with one of them playing a key role (I know because I did it in Red with Beedrill).

Ditto can be crazy good depending on the situation. Using it in a dragon gym + scarf = profit.

I think the worst Pokemon of all though is probably Luvdisc. That or male Combee.

Discounting NFE Pokémon, I'd have to go with Luvdisc. Everything about that mon (stats, type, movepool, etc.) is bland at best and irredeemable at worst. And unlike say Delibird or Unown, there is no gimmick to seperate him from the rest.

Anything and everything involving Clamperl. If you're going to give me a Pokemon with multiple evolutionary possibilities, it's best to make it one that's actually memorable. I forget the thing exists half the time.

In Wonder Trade, the worst Pokémon have to be Caterpie, Kakuna, Pidgey, Pikachu, Tentacool, Magikarp, Poochyena, Zigzagoon (especially Zigzagoon), Wurmple, Wingull, Pelipper, Surskit, Luvdisc, and the Elemental Monkeys. I'm saying this because they are the most common trades, and are nothing but Wonder Fodder traded in the hopes of getting something decent.

Likewise, some of these Pokémon are classified negatively for use in battles.

I'd have to agree with the Luvdisc and Delibird bashing, but at least they will get you places in your runthrough with Surf and Fly.

Spinda, like most normal types has a wide range of attacks it can learn, Psychic and Shadow ball are particularly useful on it for coverage.
