Think back to when you were 10. Would you have been able to do the Pokémon badge quest? Now, I don't intend or expect you to do a deep dive into what you were like when you were 10. Just a simple yes or no will do.

For me, it's a case of needing meds and a very short attention span. I likely would get bored and just go home. There are other things that would prevent me from doing this, such as low vision and low hearing.

I certanly would attempt to do so. I think the Pokemon world is far more dangerous that we give it credit for though... assuming I just dont go back home or even if im not allowed to leave home due to parents...

I dont think im getting all 8 Badges, Going through Victory Road and then fighting the Elite 4... nor would 10 year old me probably be able to solve some of the puzzles... or even survive some of them... also your expecting a 10 year old to walk cross country...

It's not impossible. I was quite fit back then. And quick witted for my age. But by the end of the quest, I would probably stink so bad the elite 4 would just forfeit just so I leave already. I mean, look at it realistically. With walking so much and not having proper bathrooms in the wilderness, not having a lot of luggage space for spare clothes...this would be inevitable for a 10 year old me who would definitely prioritize survival over social norms

I like to believe i would achieve it through sheer force of will and the power of friendship. Pokemon has been a special interest for the vast majority of my life, and 10 year old me was absolutely desperate for the chance to go on a pokemon adventure and would have tried to brute force his way through all of the badges.

Honestly, I think I'd be begging my parents to let me have a Pokémon, but be too scared of the big wide world to do the journey part. I'd most likely end up as one of those NPCs with one or two Pokémon who sticks around the same town and occasionally battles travelers.

I'd love my own Pokémon at that age, but my parents wouldn't trust me to go out on my own this young. And honestly? Neither would I; I've gotten myself lost before. I'd rather wait until I'm mature enough so I can start my badge journey.

And anyway, I always thought that whole premise was odd, but that's a whole 'nother beast for another time.

My feet hurt than and hurts now after, like, a two hour walk so I doubt it lol

i feel like there's a world where i could have completed the pokemon badge quest as a 10 year old if i was doing it with a friend but not solo. i don't even mean a rival that pops up every now and again, i mean a travel buddy. 10 years old is before i became physically disabled so i wouldn't be too concerned about my physical ability to do it, especially with the help of my hypothetical pokemon, plus i believe i'd be passionate enough to go through with it... but i had severe anxiety at that age, particularly when i didn't have someone around, so bringing a friend with me would probably be mandatory. not that i'm complaining though, the pokemon journey sounds wayyy more fun with friends :wynaut:

at 10 years old im not sure i would have had the self-discipline and knowledge to do things like eat/hydrate properly or wash myself/my clothes or be able to find somewhere safe to sleep overnight so... probably not :hmm:

I would love to attempt it. I used to imagine myself as a Pokémon trainer when I was younger.

As a kid I loved going outdoors, meeting people and even travelled without my parents a couple of times. But crossing a whole country, cooking for myself and taking care of my own finances and wellbeing as well as the health and food of 6+ pets? That sounds like a nightmare honestly, even if the Pokemon world is more welcoming and "safer" than ours. There's a reason why trainers in both the anime and the games are drawn closer to teenagers than to actual kids, it just wouldn't look realistic.
