When 5th gen comes, I'm sure many ofus want to trade all our Pokemon over from D/P/Pt so the new game can become our "base" version with all our Pokemon and items.

Would you assume it would be on the DSi or a new handheld? If it's on the DS, then there is no second slot so there wouldn't be a Pal Park the exact same way. Would you need two DS' to do it wirelessly? How do you think it's going to happen?

I'm just hoping there is an easy way to transfer mass amounts of Pokemon (or at least a box) at one time because most peoples' collections have increased significantly to the point many have several hundred Pokemon.

Opinions, speculation?

Maybe a second Pokemon Box like game for the Wii, this time maybe it would include something to be more appealing to non-japanese fans; that way it would be the "perfect" storage system.

But I am a little sad, I mean, Nintendo shouldn't FORCE us to buy DSi, I would like to think it is more to the DS like the GBMicro was to the GBA (although a comercial failure in that case).

There aren't any DSi exclusive games. They may have DSi exclusive features, but no more than that.

I hope you are right and Pal Park is still available on HGSS, in any case, we still would make use of a second Pokemon Box game.

Obviously, but they are going to use HGSS to push the DSi sells for sure. And the same question still remains.

DSs are able to trade with DSis. Even if there are DSi-exclusive games, why would there have to be any system more complicated than a version of the one between Gens. I and II?

We could have easily had a Pokemon Box already. It's called Ranch. There's no reason we shouldn't have been able to transfer Pokemon around with that, but Nintendo chose to prevent it.

No that's not what I meant, I only said DSi over DS because I think this game is going to be used to heavily promote the DSi, not that it's exclusive to it. It just seems like it could potentially lack a Pal Park for this reason.

The problem with trading like Gen 1 and Gen 2 is a) two DS' b) not practical

For one, I sure as hell am not going to trade hundreds of Pokemon one by one.

Second, I couldn't! For every Pokemon I want to trade, I am going to have to trade one back. I can't go out and catch a few hundred lv. 3 (insert route 1 Pokemon here) just to trade.

There needs to be a Pokemon box-esque feature. Transferring Pokemon from Gen III wasn't that bad, but still annoying. Gen IV is going to be worse.

Ah, now I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll change anything. They didn't with FrLg, did they? Your best bet is to catch a small army of Rattata and trade over your core Pokemon one by one. If you're trying for Pokedex completion... good luck.

Took me about three hours to do that for my best from Diamond to Platinum. THREE HOURS.

I do wish they bring back the Stadium-style box transfers eventually.

They should just patch My Pokemon Ranch (it's possible, Japan just got a patch for Platinum) so that any DPPt (or HGSS) game can deposit and withdraw any Pokemon. Right now, only the game which deposited a Pokemon could withdraw it. Why they did this after Pokemon Box, I have no idea.

I don't see why "Gen V. is coming up in here when this is supposed to be for HGSS only.

Now, as for a transfer method, I would like to see a bulk transfer system of some kind.
