Would/Do/ you Want Ash to Win Sinnoh league?

Like I said a year ago, I believe he'll just Final Four the Sinnoh Regionals, on the grounds he:

Top 16'd Kanto Once
Top 8'd Twice, from Johto to Hoenn

Either he gets to the semifinals and loses to a rival, or he'll *gasp* win the whole thing and then battle the Elite Four and lose against Cynthia or something.

The latter option would've been ridiculous in previous years, but after all the foreshadowing...

I'm going with the latter myself. Ash needs to win a tournament and getting as far as Cynthia would show definite progress.

i would like him to win, but i worry if he did it would be the end of the adventures and then were prob see a complete clone of him trying to acomplish the same exact goal, however if he won but we continue some ways with his adventures then i back that

I'm predicting D/P will end with Ash beating the league (and Paul in the process), taking the Elite 4 challenge and then losing to Cynthia.

I think Scotts on to something.

It would show some marked improvement, and after all, ash is getting more and more mature and impressive every season.

Seems the perfect way to show his progression while not closing any doors imo.

And it would be hella cool!

I can't get behind the idea of Satoshi going from losing in the Quarter-Finals twice to not only winning the League, but also defeating all of the Four Emperors, and then losing to the Champion.

Every time Satoshi has fought one of them, it's ended pretty badly for him. Suddenly he's going to beat all 4 in a row?

Even if he does win the league (and I don't think he will this time around), that would just be too out there, imho.

I have to agree, the elite's have always been shown as extremely powerful trainers on a whole nother level of skill from what Ash is capable of even at his best and no matter how close he may get they still destroy him in the end.

Not to mention his team is hardly becoming what most thought of it or there would've been more developments by now on it and I don't see him winning the league without calling in backup and i know most people would rather that not go down.

One Question tho,how long you guys expect Ash to always never win a league?

I'd really like for him to come in second place. At least then he gets a trophy and recognition without quite making it.

Why do people expect him to win one while he has an overestimated team that is currently incapable of doing so on it's own? Seriously if at least one other of Ash's pokemon had evolved by now then maybe it would have a chance, but one evo before the upcoming movie shows me this team overall future is very dim and bleak.

True they could call in his reserves which could probably clench it for him, but alas people don't like that as they claim it will "shaft" the dp team from thier rightful glorfication.

Of course what's more important here Ash winning a league or glorifying a team that doesn't have a bright future?

The Sinnoh league will be enough screentime for the D/P Pokemon, the Elite 4 challenges on the other hand would be similar to Battle Frontier where Ash uses a mix of current and past Pokemon.

If Ash challenges the Elite 4, there's no reason he *shouldn't* use old Pokemon again. The writers will probably want to use his reserves before the 5th gen "wipes the slate clean" yet again and that will be the only time for the Kanto, Hoenn and Johto Pokemon (in the latter case Heracross and Donphan) to appear again after a long while.

Assuming they can evolve enough to get the task done of course cause i'm still doubtful at this point and I know thier not going to shotgun mutliples evos on one person's team between gyms.

I hope you only mean similar by Ash using reserves, if he has to travel around to battle them instead of fighting them one after another like he should it would be demeaning of the elite.

You know, there's no reason he can't use a few reserves in the Shinou League.

I mean, I don't think anyone wants his team to get overshadowed, but it would be possible to do.

They could avoid overshadowing his main team but still have him use a few reserves. If we're getting 3 or more 6 vs 6 battles, then it'd be nice to see a few different faces. Just as long as his DP Pokemon made up the majority of the ones used.

The only team that was ever overshadowed was the Johto roster, from beginning to end. They only got 6 out of the 8 Johto Gyms, (Falkner and Claire were dominated by Kanto Pokemon), and the league had the Kanto trio and reserves as the stars.

Even in BF when they used older pokemon, the writers did a good job not making the Hoenn Pokemon take a backseat. Grovyle/Sceptile got three Brain Battles, (Greta, Spenser, Brandon), Swellow got two, (Tucker and Spenser), Corphish got two, (Tucker and Anabel), Torkoal got one, (Brandon), and Donphan got Lucy.

The writers had Charizard return twice, Bulbasaur and Squirtle appear, Snorlax, Tauros and Heracross and still the AG Pokemon got a time to shine.

I don't see why it can't be done again, especially since the Elite matches will probably be 5 on 5 each if they stick to the game teams giving more room for Pokemon to be used.

I at least want to see Ash get to the top 3 maybe. Than next one he gets the top 2 and finally wins. I don't want the series to end, we all know if Ash wins this it will.

At the beginning of Battle Frontier, weren't the brains likened to the Elite Four? If not directly, then indirectly, since Scott told Ash about them shortly after his loss to Agatha. The Battle Frontier between Hoenn and Sinnoh would definitely be reason enough for him to be considered good enough to make it to the Finals (dunno about winning it, though). Although, Paul's loss to Cynthia would need to be factored into understanding how well he could do against the Elite Four. Why is his team considered underdeveloped? He's only recently gotten his third badge. Plenty of time for more events to take place.

Top 3? lol Quatres-8 Semis-4 Final-2 maybe do a play off lol.
he either end up in semis or final 4gs not quatres again that would be annoying to me:L

Dude, I've been telling that all along!

:mallet: Also, you got the both speculated yet on-going pattern wrong:

Top 16 -- Once (Kanto)
Top 8 -- Twice (from Johto to Hoenn)
Top 4 -- Thrice, starting from Sinnoh
Choking the Championship Match: Four times
League Champ -- 5x, right after he stops choking 4 times in a row.
