... Going to explain this best I can. I sometimes can be a little incoherent never been quite good at delivering my lines across... but here it goes...

You know how it shows post counts and such? And then on the post windows of each person it has like a "report this person?" Or whatnot?

Instead of that (well I mean keep it of course but I mean also possible add this too if you so happen to like the idea! =P)... I wish there was a button that would send a "thank you" ... so like right bellow there post count... will also be a "thank you count"

There is many people I would like to just give my thanks rather than just through posting sense they have shown their kindness to me and I am sure many others and it would be just something fun as well to do... just about anyone can be a prick and this be kind of a small award to say "Hey look at this! I was thanked for helping this person!" ... or whatever the case maybe... gives more little cool things to do with the forums however small this is... (other than coding I am sure o_O)

And with this type of system people know who to ask for help or whatnot... say they are new and got a question... they are going to look around anyhow and I am sure they will take notice to post counts and then more than likely the "thank you counts" and more than likely ask them for assistance if they feel to shy at first to say anything to the entire forum... especially if they are from a forum that didn't have very nice people and want to move on but kind of intimidated to post at first. So they contact them for whatever it maybe and what not... this is just an example...

Then there is just other things it is like really good artwork and want to thank them for posting their art and sharing it with us or complimenting on something I had done or whatnot...

Also encourages people to be nice to one another... haha this sounds all sappy and lame doesn't =P Ah well... still thought it be kind of cool...

Hope that all made sense... I might have over worded but again like I said I was never very good at delivering my lines...

Hopfully my point has been noted so it doesn't appear to be a "useless" suggestion.

That sounds like a good idea actually. you got your point across fine to me. That would be pretty awesome to have a thank you button. there are ALOT of users who i would like to say thanks to.
 
I actually think this will turn out to be just friend politics. Certain people will probably get a thank you for everything at every post, just because they're popular, regardless of what they did.
 
I'm kind of with Mizzle on this exact issue.

I'd prefer a "like" button instead, though the same thing might happen there, too...
