If there was a Potion for everlasting life, and you and an old lady just about to die were racing to get it, and there was only enough for one person, would you take it, or would you let the old lady have it?

I made this up, and I won't deny it's based on Zekuroms ideas.

And you'd die if you didn't get it, as you wouldn't be able to leave the shop without it, due to electrical barriers.

And you can't ask her opinion. She's deaf and mute. (And you don't know sign language either XD)

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to be a selfish bastard and say number 1. That old lady who's about to die is probably much older than I am, and has much less of a life to live than I do.

Only after knowing the old lady's opinion on the matter, I would take my decision. If she was insecure, I would go for selfish brat most likely, because of the reason Zekurom already pointed out. So, that's my vote, though it's only my second option (first would be ask the old lady for her opinion).
 
You can't ask her, you just have to do it.

No need to explain everything - it's a hypothetical situation, therefore trying to explain everything will only cause people to try and find even more loopholes.

You just need to say, "She can't communicate either." There's no need to use the show-don't-tell principle in questions like these.
 
Eternal life sucks. People will kill themselves in the end because they don't want to stay alive anymore anyway.

So I'd buy it myself to destroy it. I wouldn't want that old lady to suffer (especially because she's blind and mute, so her life would suck anyway).

Because of this, the poll option is wrong. I'd be the one to get it first, but I'm no selfish brat.

I'm a Christian, so, yeah, I believe in everlasting life anyways. So #2.

Everlasting life. Not as nice as it sounds. If the lady wants it, then that's her choice. But why would I have even bothered to try and get it in the first place?

I know, but if my life depended on it... well, she's an elderly woman who is deaf and mute. So I guess I'd take it, much as I'd hate it.
 
Really, I'm not doing it for the eternal life, just to save myself from death.

Perhaps a better question would be for a potion that would extend your life by another 70 years, without the electrical fences. Then I'd give it to the lady.
 
Definitely not taking it. Ever lasting life isn't for me, even thought the life itself is awesome, I wouldn't like to see all my friends and dear ones passing away, when I'm staying alive forever. And the whole charm of life would vanish away after some extra years anyway.

I bet the most that old women wouldn't take it too.
