Would You Ever Consider Using Pre-Gen V Pokemon in BW Before the E4?

Seeing as you can get pre-Gen V Pokemon in the DW while playing the main game. and seeing as you can trade them from another file straight from the start, would you ever consider using using Gen I, II, III or IV Pokemon in BW before the Elite Four?

I would, as it isn't cheating if the game allows you to do it.
 
I did.

I used Suicune and Raikou (in Black and White respectively). I mean, if you're gonna transfer them over for the Zoroark event, you might as well use them. :-D
 
It's allowed by playing the game somewhat normally, yes, and there are still quite a few Pokémon from previous generations that I like and haven't gotten to use on an in-game team yet. I wouldn't mind augmenting a future BW team with previous-gen Pokémon, but there are a few G.V 'mon that I have yet to use that are on my "wanted" list. I didn't do so in my original run because the Global Link was, at that time, unavailable.


EDIT: To answer the question further down, an ideal team for a new run of B/W/ThirdVersion would be, for me,

- Golurk
- Bisharp
- Glaceon
- Carracosta
- Porygon-Z
- Escavalier

As I said, I still have a fair few G.V Pokémon to work through.

I only did the only-Gen-V-Pokemon run on my first play. since then Glaceon/Eevee was always on my replay teams and I did a Ice-type Nuzlocke on my new Black game.
 
As a sidenote, what would you use as your team if you were to use pre-GV Pokemon?

I would use:

  1. Emboar
  2. Staraptor
  3. Nidoking
  4. Ludicolo
  5. Steelix
  6. Virizion
 
Absolutely, I'm waiting for the reason to buy the 3DS for it. Been thinking of playing the possible R/S remakes with a Totodile and B/W with a mono steel team, or the psuedos, they're enough for a whole team now!
 
Absolutely. I considered using clones of my shiny Altaria & Stantler in my playthrough of white, however there are still gen 5 'mons I haven't used yet that I wanna use first.
 
Naah, not in B/W. I liked to use its regional Pokémon, since they made us that "fresh start". I've still used Pokémon from different generations in past games, also non-regional ones (like my Shiny Drifloon in HeartGold). It was already a pain to choose Pokémon for my team from 5th gen's monsters, since there was so much good possibilities!
 
Now that I've gotten to know the Gen V Pokemon, sure I would. I hope to do an Electric Monorun in Black sometime soon, and also a run in which I only use Pokemon from the dream world.
 
I never wanted to, but then I got a shiny Flareon, and I used it up until the E4. Didn't want to use an old PKMN in the new league.
 
I considered it, but Dream World didn't come out until long after I beat the game.
 
I didn't. I wanted to play with the new Pokemon :D The Dream World wasn't open yet anyway.
 
Depends on the Pokémon, since I like to try new Pokémon instead of sticking to the same one in every single game. So if it's a Pokémon I've never used before, then yes.
 
i was very tempted to swap out my weakish Serperior for that event Celebi i transferred over, but i don't like touching unique legendaries :X so i didn't.
 
I wouldn't even if given the chance. I left the event celebi and shiny dogs in my box for that reason. You're supposed to wait to use them until after you beat it otherwise you ruin the entire reason we have over 150 monsters in this game, to explore and find tons of new creatures to use in battle. Having a team made up of old Pokemon ruins that idea.
 
Yes. I like to use only my favorites, and how in SoulSilver has been very boring use only two pokémons(who are not even more my favorites) to begin to train the others that I like after I completed the game, this time I will use pre-Vgen to me have more fun.
