Would you guys liked a different logo for the Pokémon franchise outside of Japan?

Like how Japan has a different one for the anime, the games and I think the Japanese TGC uses the outside of Japan Pokémon logo right? Or do you guys like the current logo now? The current logo is a little cartoonish but that's why I like it.

I like it, it's classic. The problem is, really, I'm tired of the old blue and yellow. I'd love it if they were to change the colors more often. They've only it done it on a few occassions. All I can think of off the top of my head is using blue and silver versions for Movies 4-5 and Singapore, as far as I can tell, using an orange-red and blue variant that made it into the anime once.

I wouldn't mind it if they at least changed the colors to match. The standard blue/yellow looks terrible on all of the game covers, and just plain tacky on everything else.

As Lil Brother said, I like the design, but I'm getting a bit tired of the colors. It would be great if the logo had the colors for the next generation colors in those games. I'd love to see a new logo, though.

I like Beckett's variation that they used to use in the recent older copies.

The feng shui is just all crapped up when you see the current logo on like, Shadows of Almia or a Prima Guide though.

I think PUSA needs to more take advantage of Pokemon's culture, and maybe use some of the Japanese logos, or at least something.

Something like this? I know its fake but I like the idea.

I dunno, the blue and yellow to me is kinda iconic, and nostalgic. I really couldn't think of any way to "improve" the current logo.

The current logo is..So boring looking.
They can keep it,but can't they change it from time to time? Like for HGSS?

I want this on the cover of the American HGSS, with the case spine saying in the Diamond and Pearl logo font, HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Yes, definitely. The current logo is just plain tacky, outdated, cheap-looking, and more of a generic kiddie logo than anything actually representing the franchise; its jumbled, cartoonish appearance looks especially inappropriate for "edgier" games like XD and Ranger. It, or at the very least the especially tacky blue-yellow color scheme, has got to go. Seriously, nostalgia value (as indicated by above posts calling this thing "iconic") is the only thing in its favor.

Personally, I wish they would create a new logo that more closely resembled the Japanese logos, for instance making it straighter and less jumbled, and using Poké Balls for the "o"s like the Japanese logo has one for the [wp=Dakuten]handakuten[/wp] in the "po". I'm too lazy to throw together a mockup, otherwise I'd post one here.

Perhaps Game Freak might consider doing this with a new international logo for Generation V? We can always dream...

Uhhh no. If they were to use Japanese text, most people who aren't dieheard fans would look at it, say "Ew, an import, I want the game in a language I can understand" and write it off. There's no way Nintendo will ever do that.

Eh, I actually do think the logo by itself has its own merits, not just nostalgia. I don't know, I just like the shape of it. If anything its age is it problem, not its saving grace. You just gotta, you know, make the logos look cool and more like their Japanese counterparts.

Actually, on second thought they have at least a couple times... Compare: Japanese vs. English. Now if only they would do that more often! :p

Ooh, that would be nice.

By the way, my compliments to whoever made those fakes. Those are badass.

I think the colors are in need of a change. Not that they're bad they're just out of date. It's like a clothing or a hair style. You can't keep it for too long before it gets dull.

Since when are games with Japanese text followed by English text mistook for imports?

I think the English logo is classic to me, but they should not use it every so often, which they did a few times.
