I just want to see a tournament where Ash properly uses all his pokemon at his disposal. The Sinnoh league was supposed to be Ash mixing his old and current pokemon, but somehow the writers completely messed it up.

Its actually shocking when you realize how long its been since some of Ash's Pokemon were even used in battle.
 
I guess of the listed poll options, the first two would be nice. A league tournament where Ash competes against, not just his main rivals, but league rivals as well would be a treat. Of course, just another miniature tournament would be good enough for me since I'm not expecting that to happen -or even an E4 challenge.

I voted for the option were Ash must face the game counterparents!
But I don't see anything of this option happening!
I would love to see a tourament like the Battle Club, but the battles should be longer than 5 minutes and it would be nice to be double battles! :D
 
I wanna see a Special Tournament Where Ash beat All the referring character who beat him but Ash didn't get the chance for beating them
Referring character such as Aj, Drew, Kenny, Zoey, Cress, Chili, Satchel, Gary & Richie etc.
Then After the tournament Ash gonna talk to them while holding his trophy.
The Girl who destine for Ash (whomever it is) gonna pass by .
When Ash saw her, he gonna ignor his friend & run toward her.
Then He gonna show his Trophy & Drag but that Girl gonna tease him & leave.
After that, Drew & Kenny show up from behind & tease Ash about the relation he has with that girl
If only there was a Tournament saga like this ! I would love it forever .

Ash vs all the Elite 4 and Champion. I'm fed up of watching him get curbstomped by the very toughest trainers, I want to see him defeat them for a change and in the same style of the games. Should they ever decide to end the series, an Elite Four and Champion challenge could make a great finale. The battles would have to span at least eight episodes, though, and I'd be extremely disappointed if they botched it up.
 
The only thing I want to see right now is Ash vs the elite 4. I don't think he really needs to revisit his old rivals. Other than trip I think they have done all they could with Ash's other rivals. A cameo appearance would be nice though.
 
Since it doesn't have to be Ash, I have a different idea:

A Gym Leader tournament, where the 8 of that region (or cross it over into multiple regions) show hidden talents and Pokémon Ash could never have beaten (except for maybe the last one each like Volkner, who did give him their A-game)

Sure, it wouldn't go anywhere, but it could be awesome.
 
A tournament between all the girls that have either travelled with Ash or had a crush on him, and the winner gets to take him on a romantic date.
Then in the typical Ash fashion, he enters himself and wins.

Its a great idea !
And It will be even better if the winner of this tournament is qualify to enter the league conference.
That would also mean that Misty might get a chance enter the Pokemon league.
 
A tournament with all the regions Gym Leaders faces off against each other. I want to see Whitney vs Elesa.
 
I'd like to see Ash win a League so it can do the Elite 4/Champion battles with all the pokémon that have been sent to Professor Oak/Juniper, especially in Best Wishes since there could be two champion battles.

But I voted other because the things I would like to see most as far as a small tournament in Best Wishes would be a 4 episodes contest tournament arc between May, Dawn, some of their rivals like the Wallace Cup. Maybe even some higher profile coodinators like Wallace, Juan, Fantina or Johanna. Also, I want Cilan to say he's a contest connoisseur and participate :p
 
I really don't see Ash Vs the Elite four as a "special tournament" cause one champion league challenges happen all the time and two it's not a bloody tournament it's a challenge for Ash and Title defense thing. But I would rather see this than someone random guy throws a random tournament where blah and blah appear. Ash's rivals and the PC's can appear in the normal Pokemon league conferences if you want them. I don't really like the idea of a invitation tournament where cool people come if that what you mean by special tournament. The pokemon league is supposed to be a omnipresent power a super tournament that up stages the normal Pokemon league shouldn't exist. Believe or not I am actually very confused by this thread.

If there is going to be tournaments separate from the Pokemon league they should be portrayed as smaller weaker and a large portion of them should be gimmicky to attract crowds. Like a tournament where you can only use heavy pokemon and it takes place on a ice field or things like the whirl cup (you know the way they are doing it now).
 
A league tournement where One more Pokemon is added for each round, jumping from 3 on 3 to full battle though. Extra rounds for double and triple battles and every character with meaning in Unova is used including Iris, Cilan and TRio. Also it would be cool if we had a tournement of Champions and Battle Frontier Victors with:

Ash Gary Cynthia Paul Brandon Lance Drake and Tobias and Alder. Also a few currently unconfirmed champions like Steven and people Ash has lost to like Tyson and Harrison
