Would you like to see another Conquest-style game?

With a lot of my hype devoted to the upcoming new Fire Emblem game, I remembered that Pokemon Conquest was a thing that happened. I quite liked Conquest; between Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics, I've grown to like grid-style, tactical, turn-based games. One thing I did like about Conquest was that the warriors seemed more involved than the main series trainers - they "evolved" as their link with the Pokemon increased, and also they had skills that had an effect on/use in battle. Trainer skills in Gen VII confirmed?!

However, I do think Conquest was a lot weaker than it could have been and didn't fulfil its potential. It could be improved upon (massively) with another game imo. The foundations are there, but Conquest didn't quite build on it enough.

With my opinion out of the way, would you like to see another entry in the Conquest series?

Another Conquest-style game would be fun, sure -- the original was a blast (though this kind of wanes with the postgame stories) for being such a mixup of tactical gameplay with a Pokemon veneer; it sure does it better than Pokemon Mystery Dungeon's combat system.

About the only way I could see it improved is to allow a warrior's Pokemon to have two moves -- the primary move is fixed per species with unlimited uses, while a secondary move can be swapped out for another (like with TMs) but only has limited uses per battle.

Pokemon Conquest was a really nice game with beautiful graphics. The only thing that bothered me was that it had to be a crossover with Sengoku Musou (I think that's the title?), and unfortunately there was never a release where I live because of the contents. I'd love to see another tactical Pokemon game if it's just about Pokemon or has a crossover with another game like Fire Emblem. I do want to see Roy, Hector, and Lynn trio with each of the starters - Blaziken, Blastoise, Serperior, idk.

a.k.a. Nobunaga's Ambition (which only ever saw limited releases outside Japan anyway). Yeah, that kind of limits what it can be about setting-wise since NA is sort of a one-trick pony. (Seriously, how many times can they conquer Japan? Though I suppose its not much different than asking how many times US gamers can relive WW2....)

I never really liked Conquest that much. It needed more variety in it's moves. Fire Emblem has
A lot of variety in what a single until can do. But Conquest is extremely limiting.

Perhaps, if they did a cross-over with a different strategy game.

I'd want a sequel if they seriously expanded the size of battlefields and added more moves to units. Switching to a hex grid layout would help differentiate moves and make it easier to fit more units on the field. Having a story that isn't just Romance of the Three Kingdoms would also be nice, but it wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

I thought Conquest was a great idea, and a decent game, but it's so desparate for some polish and refinement. The enemy AI is just bad, and also the pokemon scale badly - if you can get past the early training phase, a single strong pokemon is much tougher than a team due to hardly taking any damage. But anyway, enough of the negatives, I did very much enjoy Conquest. If anything, its flaws are what make it beg for a sequel most of all, I'd say. But I'd love to see another one, anyway.

I'd love to see another Conquest game, the original was a lot of fun to play and I would like to see what they would do with a sequel.

Yes. It's a spin off series that they can do more with as described by many users above me, unlike some of the other spin offs.... yes I mean you PMD...
