She's the only one that seems to return for every generation dealing with contests, every other generation girl comes and leaves. Jessie is the only one that stays and gets stronger. What do you think?

Well she's now the longest main girl coordinator in the anime. :p

The main story doesn't revolve around her though, hence why her wins have to happen off-screen or when the main character loses.

Wait... I voted wrong... oh well. I'd say she isn't, for the same reason Scott85 said. It'd be fun if Jesse was the main coordinator, though.

Jessie has been a coordinator for about 8 seasons, three regions, and about 360+ episodes.

But the contests treat her as a secondary rival, we've never seen a full contest JUST about Jessie.

No, but damn if it's not fun for her to have started winning like she has. :p

How wild would that be if she got to be Top Coordinator some day? That would make for a great plot twist.

No, Jessie is good as an antagonist, but not as a main coordinator. Plus, the writers couldn't really tie Ash into the story.

Ash : Look at this poster Brock and new girl who's not doing contest. There's a contest in town... Oh well, let's get on our way...

cuts to Jessie in the bush preparing for the contests...

Except that would be done 10-12 times for each of Jessie's contests, not happening... If Dawn leaves and new girl doesn't do contests, that will just mean the writers will have dropped contests altogether... unless they ditch both Brock and Dawn and Ash's new male companion is a coordinator and the girl is just there to follow them and do nothing except carry a baby pokemon in her arms (ugh Misty flashback)

So a resounding NO... but I do enjoy Jessie when we see her participating

No. She's been in more contests on the show (I think) than any other girl, but she's still been mostly in the background. May and then Dawn have always been the main girl coordinators.

One think I will say, is that once Jessie became a coordinator it honestly felt like James was neglected as a result.

QFT. Ever since Hoenn, he had one less pokemon than Jessie and he doesn't really have anything except for the pokeringer and pokemon orienteering (woop-di-doo!)

Yeah, back in the Kanto/Johto era it felt like Jessie and James got about the same amount of screentime.

Not anymore.

It's a shame, too, since I think he's the less shallow character of the two. Jessie did have Ignorance is Blissey, at least.

Well they did have DP153 all about James. Maybe they'll do another James-focused episode to make up for it?

And as much as I like to see Jessie do contests, she definitely isn't the main one. She's just the coolest -3-

Sadly, however, Kojiro already got a good backstory. I guess that explains why. And to be honest there isn't much thing we can make Kojiro do other than those, is there? *Sigh* I wish in animé Pokéthlon was not such a failure. It had a potential...

That would be great if we had a full contest just about her. Her character has really developed and I would love to see that.

Dawn is great and all, but Jessie is just more interesting.

I completely agree with you, Scott85.

Who knows, that has a chance of happening. If Hikari wins her fifth ribbon in Asatsuki contest, that means that Musashi will have to obtain her two remaining ribbons without her around to steal attention ;)
