Wouldn't it be nice if someone from Game Freak or Nintendo came here?

I've been in several forums about games and I saw some of them being visited by the people who made the games. I wonder what would happen if someone from Game Freak or Nintendo came here?

Having someone that works directly on the creation of the games may be asking for a bit much, since I'm pretty sure most aren't fluent in English. I guess it is possible for whoever localizes the games to browse English language boards though.

It'd be nice. Maybe they do browse here but just don't take the time to set up an account. It's happened before.

Yeah im sure a lil while back somoene from Nintendo was on here
Maddie Blaustein (RIP) used to be a member here as well
(if you do not know who she is then look on bulbapedia)

GameFreak employees don't even post on Japanese forums, why the hell would they come here?

I'm also pretty sure there's some rule against intentional leaking of info in the videogame industry. In other gaming companies employees are often fired for leaking information on future games.

I think they do visit here. You've gotta listen to what the fans are saying.

For all we know, there could be employees on any given forum. If they are, however, they wouldn't tell anyone or they'd get flooded with suggestions and questions and the whole forum would turn into a mass "interview" completely against his/her will. Plus, being in secret allows information from the fanbase to be gathered more easily, though considering the games have a primary demographic that's too young to be on forums, I doubt it's a very big priority for any of them.

You'd think that after more than a decade, they would've realized that the majority of their fans (and thus their main sources of money) are teenagers. In fact, if you look at the "How old are you?" poll, the ages of PokéFans form an almost-perfect bell curve centered at 1993.

Maybe they are already here? I can't really see them making it know though for the same reason that was already stated. Its probably what they do for fun on a friday night. It feel good to have so many people talking about their work.

But that poll was only taken by people who go on this forum.

They should still have figured out that they have a large teenage fanbase.

As for anyone being an employee, that's very true. Heck, I could be a GameFreak employee. We had one of the authors of Warriors on the Warriors Saga site at one point and none of us never knew. Why should here be any different?

In all seriousness though, if GameFreak wants to make the most money and get the biggest approval from the fans, which is part of their target audience, they need to have people who seek out the fan hotspots and figure out what the fans want.

If they changed it to be aimed at teen audiences, then the soccer moms would be pissed.

If we made it wider, then hell, it'd be like placing guns and violence into Sesame Street!

Yeah, but what 5 year old kid wants to play a complex, turn based RPG? They would be better off playing a Nickelodeon game or something.

It's large, but only the fanbase of the games is significant enough to appeal to. Pretty much 99% of the people over 13 who watch the show are still going to watch the show no matter what they do.

You don't need guns and violence to appeal to older audiences. Actually, funny you should mention it, Sesame Street actually has the reputation for being one of the most enjoyable children's shows for parents and older children/teenagers to watch.

Lots of them, as it's only as complex as they want it to be.
