INTRODUCTION
Welcome to this year’s Writers' Workshop Winter event! In the spirit of giving and supporting each other as community members, we'll be hosting a winter gift exchange, where participants will be writing and receiving gift fics for each other.

THE TIMELINE

• Signups Close — 6th October
• Assignments Given Out — 14th October
• Check-in #1 — 1st November
• Check-in #2 — 14th November
• Check-in #3 — 1st December
• Final Check-in — 14th December
• Deadline — 18th December
• Gifts Posted — 24th/25th December

THE RULES

1. In order to receive, you must be willing to give. If you enter to receive a fic, you will also be writing a gift fic for a community member.
2. All gift fics must:
   1. Be between 1,000 and 5,000 words long.
   2. Answer one of the prompts given.
   3. Contain at least one of the specific characters given.
   4. Abide by the Bulbagarden Rules and the Writers’ Workshop Rules.
3. Event Password is your favourite Ice-Type Pokémon - You need to include this in your form!
4. Answer the Check-Ins within 3 days! This is a good time to address any concerns you may have with the gift fic you're writing, such as if you'll be able to complete it on time. In the event you are unable to complete your gift, please let us know as soon as possible so we can ensure everyone gets a gift!
5. Remember to keep your pairing secret!

Let the revels begin! (!!)

On Christmastides gone by, in noble households and sometimes in whole villages, one of the party would be appointed the Lord of Misrule, to head up the drinking, the dancing, the partying, and the general mischief. It was a custom a bit like the Boy Bishop or King for a Day, a bit of "Simon Says" mucking around to sow some good-natured chaos into the evening. The social commentator Philip Stubbes hated it, but then he was an early Puritan who hated everything colourful, fun, or fashionable.

And so, in the spirit of good-natured tyranny, I have hereby appointed myself the Lady of Misrule for the season, tasked, nay, duty-bound to pair up all you pert participants in the most perfectly perplexing fashion imaginable.
