X-Men Origins: Wolverine Plot Synopsis

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine – written by David Benioff (The Kite Runner, Troy) – tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

No real spoilers. Not much other than speculation fodder, really. Seems like one of those "star-filled" movies, only instead of movie stars scattered everywhere, it's mutants. I bet Maverick shows up as a 17-year-old hacker.

Being executive producer, I'd say it's rather likely he will be.

Sadly, he's the only confirmed cast member (unless I'm forgetting someone). There's been talk of someone new playing Sabretooth (no clue why, since I liked Tyler Mane in the role), and even though Brian Cox has been saying he'd be in it since X2, that alone should serve to show he's not guaranteed to be in it (Ray Park all but said he was going to be playing Iron Fist after X-Men...and I'm still waiting. I really am waiting. I think he'd be great).

As for mutants I think will, or would like to see, appear:

Gambit (there's been talk of filming in New Orleans. Wolverine has NO firm ties to the town and Gambit's been rumored to be in EVERY X-Men film since the franchise began, so...)
Silver Fox (there's gotta be a love interest, and I'd like it to be her. Plus it gives Sabretooth someone to kill and prove he's a badass)
Maverick (he's...too easy to include in a really crappy way for him to NOT be in it...which, I'm sure, means he won't)
Sabretooth (either that's confirmed, or it's all BUT confirmed)
Jubilee (she's had a minor role in all the X-Men films, so surely a little Asian-American girl can pop up at some point)
Blob (I just want to see how they could make him work. Plus, he'd be an interesting opponent)

And I'm sure NONE of these will show up, buy hey, I stopped getting my hopes up about who appears in these movies long ago.

It wouldnt surprise me if Logan used to be part of the new orleans branch of subway, before being in a freak accident with a radioactive wolverine and getting his powers in this version. :-|

I'll be sorely disapointed if they dont confront the weapon x reprogramming, whose dead whos alive, did sabie really do that sub-plot so fingers crossed.

i think there is a possibility of mystique, although i dont know why....
