It seems most people have gotten through the game-defining moments of both games, so it's time to compare!

Which is better, Pokémon X or Pokémon Y? Post your thoughts her.

I never played these games, but I goes for Y, because in Y I can catch most of my teammates and Charizard, Mewtwo Y evolutions is more powerful them X for me.

I 'd say Pokemon X. I just...I dunno, like it a lot more. I prefer Xerneas over Yveltal. I even like a blue X over a red Y, as weird as that is...
But let's face it, just like Diamond and Pearl, or Black and White, or Red and Blue, the games aren't TO different, accept for available Pokemon.

I would say they both have pro and con Pokemon in it there is not really a winner. Just the X Charizardite is in my opinion better (I like the black/blue style of Charizard more). I have Y because of Yveltal i like its style and the dark type, and as AmphiGamer said before because of the style of the Version (Red=Aggressive) .

Have been playing X while my brother plays Y, neither of us have finished but so far I see very little difference at all.

Just prefer the Blue colour (ironic as I played Red not Blue) and the design, ie Xerneas just seems brighter and full of life.
I know the skins on BMGF are just fan made, but its a good example, Yveltals was dark and depressing and I had to change the skin to something else, I prefer the brighter Xerneas one, also it just feels closer to nature.

I am playing X and don't notice any diference from you guys, but my decision for this title was Charizard X. I love Charmeleon and the other evolutions, but this new Charizard Black/Blue is awesome! Is a lot cool than Zekron or any pokémon before in my opinion.

X because Xerneas is just that awesome and the blue color and the beautiful cover art. :3

For me it is quite the opposite :D

Your right with Carizard, but i would say its one of the best looking Pokemon so far

I also think it has something to do with the Gender which Version some people pick.

I got Y and was able to get most of X's version exclusives (except Xerneas and some fossils) as well as Charizardite X (but I prefer how YZard looks, it has better animation, cooler roar/cry and nicer 3D model too)

I like Yveltal a lot better than Xerneas. Dark is my favorite type, and Yveltal just looks badass. And it reminds me of a bearded vulture, which is one of my all time favorite animals. Plus Yveltal the god of death and destruction looks surprisingly cute in Amie.

Don't get me wrong, Xerneas looks cool too, but not a huge fan of the Fairy type and it kinda bothers me that Xerneas doesn't seem to have a mouth...

Y's a lot more badass to me. Yveltal steals the lives of everything. I mean, I like Xerneas, but are Team Flare as sadistic in X as they are in Y?

In X, they want to gain immortality. Also, they want to kill most humans and all Pokemon. The only ones who will survive the ultimate weapon are those that Lysandre deems worthy (ie. Team Flare.)

There are also some neo-Nazi overtones to the whole thing.

That said, I haven't played Y yet, so I don't know if this is in any way different from the Team Flare of that version.

On related news, I chose X because Xerneas is my favorite legendary Pokemon since Lugia. It just looks so majestic and awe inspiring. Geomancy is super boss, too. The only thing that disappointed me is that we didn't get to visit the forest that formed around Xerneas when it died (either of them.) That sounds like a great place to have some serious fairy tale-esque adventures in.

I dont think xerneas actually dies, i think it just become the dried tree until it restores its energy.
Also, what does the guy in anistar city in Y version says about yveltal?

But Xerneas is the Pokemon of life. How does Team Flare go about killing everyone in X?

It turns out that the Ultimate Weapon is, in fact, a weapon.

The whole thing is a little convoluted to me, but I'll try my best to make sense of it.

I think Lysandre was siphoning energy from Xerneas to grant his team immortality through the ultimate weapon. Then, he'd 'reverse the polarity,' so to speak, and turn the life giving energy of the weapon into a death ray. AZ did it in the past, so it stands to reason that Lysandre could as well. If Xerneas' energy can only give life, then maybe that would explain why he was using the stones in Route 10 to take life energy away from other Pokemon. Maybe he meant to use them to power his death ray and Xerneas to power his life ray. Mind you, this is speculation since, at best, the game only loosely implied it, but it's the best way I can make sense of the whole thing.

It is worth noting that the only direct reference we have to Xerneas from 3000 years ago stated that it showed up after the ultimate weapon had already been fired and healed all of the wounded Pokemon before turning into a dried up tree. At no point is it even implied that AZ used Xerneas' energy to revive his Floette, nor that it was Xerneas who made him immortal. This begs the question, if AZ didn't use Xerneas to bring Floette back to life and give himself immortality, then how did he do it? More importantly, why did Lysandre need Xerneas in the first place? Why couldn't he just replicate the experiment the same way that AZ did? If AZ had the technology to do it 3000 years ago, it should be a walk in the park for Lysandre labs to replicate it nowadays.

They're nearly the same thing. There was a much bigger difference between Black and White, and by extension the sequels. I like this because you didn't feel like you need both games to get the complete experience. I just went with Y because I usually go with the blue/"cool"/cold game (Sapphire, LeafGreen, Diamond, Black/2) and it was time for a change of pace.

Ive been thinking about it and realized that xerneas' and yveltal's enrgy is all THE SAME. Yveltal kill things because it steals life energy. Xerneas is the life pokemon because it shares life energy. Both xerneas and yveltal have very much life energy, yveltal because it stole from other living things, and xerneas might be the source of all life energy. Yes, life energy can be used to kill things, just like water in the real world is needed for life, while it still can kill things. Its also implied that the energy the pokemons use to evolve is the same life energy, and mega stones allow some pokemons to mega evolve because they have absorbed the life energy fired by ultimate weapon 3000 years ago.

I haven't played Y version yet, but I really loved X. It got me into the game like I used to when I was seven or eight immediately. Awesome job by Nintendo!

I picked Y because Yveltal is a bad mother and that seems to be the only real choice to be made of any significance!

I picked and pre-ordered Y... Then I saw Mega Charizard X. I went to Amazon, cancelled my order, and ordered X. Mega Charizard X was enough to sway me. I love the look of Yveltal but, it's a legendary. I never use legendaries any more and haven't since Pokémon Gold.

That being said, Dragalge is awesome. The other new version exclusives I don't care enough about to say.
