when you get an XBox 360 do you get the gold membership card with it or buy it seperatly? Do all gold membership cards come with first 3 months free subscription? I dont have my 360 yet and dont have a clue.

Q. I thought I got a free month of Gold when I bought my system, but I don't know how to activate it?
A. During the initial system setup, choose the Silver membership and you will automatically get a free month of Gold.


No card or anything, just during the setup for a silver account. After that you have to pay the regular fees. (I'm not sure if you can keep creating new accounts to keep gold status, but that's a dumb idea anyway.)

Once you have your 3 month Gold Subscription from signing up to a Silver Account, you just buy subscription cards (after the initial 3 months.)

Just go to the Xbox Live Marketplace, and select REDEEM CODE. The cards each come with a code that you input during the signup process.

I thought it was only one month free when you get a Silver account, but my first Gold account was passed over from the old Xbox so it might have something to do with that, if that's true.
