Alright, alright, I know we are all getting sick of Gen V threads, but it's the thing that is basically the broadest subject.

Here's what I want to talk about, the next area. I had started this originally talking about having it in space, but I was totally shot down, so let me refine my idea:

Gen V could be set in a futuristic world, I mean yea pokéballs and the storage system are all very futuristic, but we have villages that we travel to. The biking path is really one of the only set paths.

So go for it, tear this one apart I guess, but it was worth a shot...:)

EDIT: Tried to make it be more plausible then POKÉMANZ IN SPAZEE

"Space", as in "Outer Space", is too big. What we've got so far was always as big as a little part of Japan. We're not suddenly diving into hundreds of planets.
 
Ok well maybe I should be a little big more specific, maybe the moon.

The mascot could be like Clefairy or something.

Although this is starting to sound like a side game....dang
 
no, because:
1. space is endelessly big
2. Having an adventure in space is pretty impossible. Getting to places would take awefully long, walking is space sucks, there is nothing to do in space etc.
3. You're playing as a friggin ten year old. They won't get to space. Ever.
 
yea well a ten year old wouldn't take down a whole evil organization either, but he does, so that logic is out the window

maybe the moon could be a side quest after the gyms

I'm not supporting idea of "Pokemon IN SPACE", but that's not an argument. There are as much pieces of fiction set in space as there are stars on the night sky. If a beaver can shoot water out of his mouths, or whale can breed with a kitten, jumping in space from planet to planet is not a big stretch of logic.
However, the point of space being too big for a Pokemon game still stands. Even one planet, even the Moon, is too big. How big is real-life Kanto? Or island Hoenn is based on? (Shikoku?) Forget it. I know it sounds "cool", but there are things we need to do before jumping out there. Like acknowledging existence of something between Kanto/Sinnoh or Kanto/Hoenn.
 
no. just... just no. This is pokemon, not Metroid
 
alright alright so I basically got owned with the idea of it being in space.

where would you like it to be then? I want like a futuristic place, well not like super futuristic, but maybe we could get CARS? or something I'm not sure.

It needs to be epicly different
 
It just isn't possible. The new generation will probably based off of another Japanese region, like always.
 
The next region being futuristic? I could see that, at least similar to that place in the movie where Munchlax debuted.

But, I doubt that would happen.
 
Storing living creatures in little balls and computer boxes shouts "futuristic" enough to me.
 
Can we give these Gen V threads a rest. It is not in the anime yet. It will atleast show some in the anime before any games come out.

False. its still growing, therefore not endless. Also, prove it.

Space is to far out there. You can have restrictions on the sea, but not in space. keep in mind that in space your not limited by asteroids, etc. you can go under, over, around, etc. if they made it it would be stupidly made.

i agree with nearly everything already said. this idea seems like the bad plot device for the 5th sequel of a bad movie.

Scientists have proven that its still growing. Although i can not personally go over every detail of their findings, i can state what is the widely accepted facts.
where as there is no proof of it being endless. i challenge you to find me any proof.

Yeah Star Wars meets Pokemon.......no that's just a bad idea. If that happened, next thing you know we'll be seeing games where you can travel to Mars to catch Pokemon. Plus all the regions are in Japan, I think having a new season in let's say America, Africa, Europe or somewhere else in Asia would be refreshing. Not space, that's just too much.
 
Alright, alright, I changed the the beginning of this thread, so go check it out.

You guys are right, Pokémon in space sounds lame, but I'm sure we will get there eventually.
