DP016: Return to Kurogane Gym! Decisive Match with Rampard!!
DP017: Get Pachirisu!?

Can you guess what happens in these episodes? :P

Every site I've visited with the DP 017 episode neglects to translate the ...daijoubu!? part at the end, and I can't for the life of me figure out why.
 
Well, I could guess who gets a Pachirisu as it is, but now that Dogasu mentions the 'daijoubu' that no one bothered to translate... =P

Hikari is boring.
 
What I want to know is why are the writers spending so many episodes at the first Gym? This is what, the fourth episode spent there? When was the last time we spent four episodes at a single Gym?

Ash really has been on a horrible losing streak since he entered Shinou. The only battle I remember him winning this saga was against the Ministrel's Roselia. Did he ever win anything else this saga?

And meh, Pachirisu has Hikari's name written all over it. I really wish we didn't have to have the 4th gen Pikachu clone on the cast, let alone with Hikari. She's pretty much going down the same cutesy Pokemon route May went, in which the writers are sticking with the stereotype of, "cute girls get cute little pokemon."

I guess the lack of cute Pokemon in Shinou made this one inevitable.
 
"Daijobu" is Hikari's trademark phrase, akin to May's "Kamo".

So....Hyouta seems too be in 4 episodes. Wow.

For the record Clair had about five episodes, so this is nothing.

Trust me i don't want her to have it for it being a Pikachu clone either, but her getting an electric type that many have considered tabooed since the show began would be something cool.
 
I hope Ash doesn't bring back an old Pokemon for the rematch.....but I DO hope he uses Mukkubird or Naetle for it...

Yes but that was special because it was the very last and strongest Gym leader in Johto.

This is the very first Gym leader, so its a big difference. I would have thought maybe they'd dedicate this many episodes to some of the later ones, since they should be stronger.
 
Unless they wised up and decided too give the Gym Leaders more depth instead of using the episodes for fillers....
 
They could have kept Hyouta for the third episode anyway.

This added length seems to be more for Shinji than him, which is something I am looking forward to.
 
I also think it's odd that Hyouta is getting a lot more episodes than some of the Frontier Brains, who are supposed to be "better" than Gym Leaders.

It's not that surprising - the Frontier Brains only had a year to be showcased.
 
So they should have adjusted the rest of the season. I'm sure we would have all liked to have a two-part Heath battle instead of a one-part Heath battle and a Butterfree filler.
