Dusk Forest

A lone Rapidash stood on a cliff. Her name was Veronica and she had gone through more than one would think. The Rapidash miserably tilted her head back and cried out to the beautiful white moon in the sky above. She heard footsteps approach from behind her.

"Veronica, dearest?" A familiar voice asked.

Veronica wanted to sigh but that would be rude so she instead replied. "Gunther, please leave me alone."

"I don't want to." Gunther replied, circling the slim Rapidash. "I want you to be my mate. And I always get what I want."

"I am a Pokemon, Gunther. I am not another one of your mindless mates." Veronica coldly replied.

"You sure?" Gunther asked, putting a paw on her face. "I think you might want to reconsider."

Veronica cringed as he ran his paw on her face.
 
Redclaw was walking through a nearby prairie when he heard something strange. A cry that sounded like it came from a Rapidash. That was odd, because there weren't typically that many rapidash around here. Interested, he swished his tails in anticipation and raced through the field, tall grass swishing behind him as he dashed off to find this newcomer.

After a bit of running, he started to see a cliff leering in the distance. Up on top he saw the flames of a beautiful pokemon. It must've been the rapidash he'd heard earlier! Being very fast for his species, he made it to the bottom of the cliff in no time and began his climb up the backside of the cliff. After about three minutes of climbing, he reached the top. He saw a Luxray wrapping himself around the rapidash. She was making unhappy noises, and was trying to push him away. Redclaw's sense of justice kicked in, and without thinking, he ran up to them. "Hey! Get your paws off her!" He used one of his oldest moves, tackle, and shoved the luxray off of her. He hadn't realized how beautiful the Rapidash was when she was far off, but when she turned to look at him, flames blazing and eyes sparking, he was speechless. "H- hi... I'm- oof!" He fell to the ground, feeling the after effects of electricity jolt around his body. He turned back to the luxray and snarled at him. "Keep your paws off of her! She obviously doesn't want you, just leave her alone!"
 
"Th-thank you." The Rapidash stuttered, still in shcok from Gunther's attack. "I'm sorry about Gunther, he just won't leave me alone."

Veronica slightly tilted her head back so she could see the moon. It was a rather beautiful thing. She should very much like to one day live amongst the stars but for now..

"What is your name? And how can I thank you?" Veronica asked.

Meanwhile..
Gunther watched jealously from behind some bushes.

"Stupid Romeo ruined my chance with Veronica."

Gunther jumped out of the bushes and pounced on Redclaws.
 
Redclaw saw the Luxray jump at him from the bushes, but he wasn't worried. the luxray's strength was no match for his speed. Redclaw dodged him, let his rage build up inside him, then landed a devastating fire fang into the Luxray's neck. "Stay away from her!" The luxray ran away, yipping and yelling about being back to get him later. Redclaw turned to the Rapidash, his tuft of hair on his head falling into his eyes. He flipped it back onto his head and smiled. "Sorry, it gets in the way sometimes. My name's Redclaw, and the only thing you can do to thank me is tell me your name as well." He smiled again. She was gorgeous!
 
"My name is Veronica." Veronica smiled at him, the flames on her mane burning furiously.

Veronica saw a Liechi Berry on the ground and using her nose, she pushed it towards Redclaws.

"Do you like Liechi Berries? They're very rare. They tend to have a bitter aftertaste but they make great Pokeblocks." Veronica explained, smiling.
 
"Veronica... A beautiful name to accompany a beautiful pokemon." He smiled, and his body started to warm up, the result of his flash fire feeding off of her brightly burning mane.

He looked at the weird whitish berry. "I've never had one before. They must be really rare! I travel a lot, but I've never come across one." He bit one half of it and nosed the rest back to her. "Here. If it's that rare, I want you to have some too." He smiled at her and held it for her in his teeth.
 
"Thank you." Veronica replied. "I do not deserve such kind words."

Veronica took a bite out of the Liechi Berry. She then picked a flower out of a nearby bush with her mouth and placed it on Redclaws' head. She laughed at the flower on his head and began to run around in circles, indicating that she wanted to play Chase.
 
Thespia grinned. She deserved way more than the words he gave. She was so beautiful he could talk forever about her! He then started worrying that he was being a little forward. Yes, he desperately wanted a mate, but he didn't have to just throw himself all over her. They needed to be friends first! He decided to tone it down.

Thespia laughed as she placed the flower in his fur, and he then got a playful look in his eye as she ran around in circles. She may be the fastest pokemon, but he'd give her a run for her money! He dashed past her, playfully nipping her ear as he ran by, not hard enough to hurt her, just hard enough as if saying 'tag! You're it!'. He dashed back off into the prairie.
 
Veronica chased after him, playfully kicking with heels. Veronica galloped after him and then ran in front of him. She smirked, knowing he was trapped.

Veronica collapsed on her back and began to roll in the grass. Even though she was elegant, she still enjoyed a good roll in the grass as much as the next Rapidash. Veronica sighed, looking up at the stars in contentment.
 
Thespia contently ran ahead of her for a bit, but then he slowly started falling behind. Wow! She's fast! it was no contest that Rapidash was the fastest pokemon in the world. She was flying! He could barely keep himself from tripping over as she bulleted ahead of him, finally stopping and rolling over in the grass. He approached her and laughed softly, his flower falling onto her belly. "You're not like other rapidashes, are you?" He smiled. She looked a little ashamed at first. "I like it. It gives you uniqueness and personality, the main thing I look for in a... A friend." Close one. He'd almost said mate. He shook his head. He had to get this stupid mate ideas out of his head! It was too soon to like her! Well... Maybe he could "like" her without "loving" her, and then work his way up to love. Who cared, there was a beautiful pokemon laying underneath him. He stepped to her side and flopped down beside her, joining her in her starwatch. "They're so beautiful..." He whispered. He turned to her. "They aren't the only beautiful things out here, granted, but they are still quite beautiful." His playful/comedic side kicking in, he added. "Yes, this grass is really good looking, but the stars are just a little bit better." He smiled and turned back to her. "Seriously though, You are an absolutely gorgeous Rapidash. The prettiest I've ever seen." He laid down and closed his eyes, happy as a diglet in a hole.

OOC: Obscure sexual references! :O Diglet... hole... now you see it, lol. sorry, my mind works that way, :p
 
Veronica turned and gentled nuzzled his nose.

"Looking for a mate?" Veronica asked, cautiously.

The stars glimmered even more brightly as they spoke.
 
Redclaw was stunned. "I... uh... I thought you weren't looking for one... otherwise I would've asked already." He stared into her eyes. What a gorgeous creature she was! But he liked her personality too, from what he saw at least. However, something in the back of his mind told him to wait a little, and being a male, he pushed the voice away, but not before he asked. "Isn't it kind of soon?"
 
"Soon?" Veronica laughed. "I'm the only one in my herd that doesn't have a mate."

Veronica tilted her head back to look at the clear sky above.
 
Redclaw smiled. "I meant we just met each other. But I guess I like you well enough, well, I like you a lot! So Yes." He got up and stood over her. "I'll be your mate"


OOC: Meh, these posts are getin short, but I like where its goin, so I dont care :D
 
Veronica nuzzled Redclaws on the nose.

"Just be careful about Gunther. He tends to get posessive."
 
Redclaw smiled. She was really all his! "Don't worry about Gunny. He seemed pretty tame compared to what I've dealt with. He smiled, and was about to kiss her, then drew back and climbed back over her to again sit on her side. He let out a low whine. "I'm sorry... It's just, I've never kissed anyone before, and, I'm scared. I feel like the first person I kiss has to be the one I love. I really do like you, but I'm just a little worried..."
 
"Yes." Veronica replied. "Luxray don't seem to be the tamest of pokemon." she looked over at the sky, where dark clouds were beginning to cover the beautiful stars.
 
Redclaw looked up to the sky. "Yeah, they can be pretty wild." He looked back at her. "So, what now? Wanna play some, or is there... "something else" you wanna do?"
 
"Lets play." Veronica playfully nudged him with her paw and began to gallop around in circles.
 
Redclaws rolled over and dashed after her. He jumped on her back, jumped off of it, and almost landed on Gunther, whose fur was crackling with electricity. This way, he almost looked threatening. "Uh... H- hi Gunther... Is something wrong?"
