Your Country as a Pokemon Region

In this topic, we would explore the possible elements or things or anything that would happen if Game Freak decided to use an area of your country as a basis of a Pokemon region. You could talk about what kinds of Pokemon would exist, what kind of environment would it be like and so on.

I am from Malaysia, so if the place were to be drawn as a Pokemon region, then I would expect to see a Tiger Pokemon as a starter, since tigers are the national animal of Malaysia. I would also see Pokemon based on durians and rambutans, as they are local fruits of the country. Malaysia also has rainforests and jungles, so I could see the Pokemon region having some rural and exotic elements as well.

So, now that I had told some of my opinions and suggestions, now it's your turn to tell what you would envision when you see in a Pokemon region inspired by your own country.

New Zealand.
kiwi, Tuatara and tui as starters.
It would be wet, with it having dense bush around the cities. Only one city is majorly big. Two others would be averagely big. The rest would be tiny...

Lol which type would go to which starter?

Yep, wet in the west, dry and sunny over on the east of this "region". And cold in the south.
I imagine the west would be somewhat similar to the rainy routes next to Fortree city in Hoenn.

West as in west coast, or west auckland, where I live?
Anyways, The Tui would be Grass/flying, cause it sips nectar
The kiwi would be fire/ground, cause it burrows
and the tuatara would be water/grond, cause it burrows with muttonbirds at the shore...

I see.

Woops I meant west coast.

There would probably be a sheep pokemon too. Therefore lots of rural areas too.

Australia would make a very.. INTERESTING region... XD
Starts:
Water- Platypus pokemon
Grass- Gum Tree Pokemon
Fire- Lizard pokemon

Very rural areas, but many major cities.

Oh yeah, and ALOT of bird pokemon.
And They should have wailords always washing up on the shore. lol!
Although, Iv'e never seen a Whale in real life before, maybe it's cause I'm a west aucklander...

Texas would be a giant reigon.

Starters:

Blackburd: A Grass/Flying bird pokemon.
Mallduck: A Water type duck pokemon.
Stingee: A fire/bug type bug pokemon.

3 major citys, and a bunch of smaller ones?

The Netherlands would be a rather boring region. No mountains, hills, or caves, and mainly pokémon like Miltank and Rapidash running around the countryside. A pretty large part of the region would be cities, though, and there would be a lot of water-pokémon and rough-terrain pokémon (the dunes). I'm guessing the Gyms would be placed in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Maastricht, Groningen, Arnhem, Utrecht, and Eindhoven (Though not in that order).

The north-east chunk of England. We'd have a Grass-type Fox starter, a Fire-type Badger and a Water-type Dolphin starter. We'd have snakes, birds, Boars, horses and squirrels, two types of the squirrel with the 'red' variant incredibly rare in the Safari Zone.

New Jersey would be interesting.

The state would probably be filled with water, bug, grass, poison, and flying types. Insects, turtles, birds of all kinds, rabbits... but mostly Wingulls.
Wingulls E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E.

Michigan. (For those of you who aren't Americans, look for an area in the northern part of the U.S. that's shaped like a mitten. That's the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, and it's right in the center of the Great Lakes area.) Obviously, with so much water we'd have plenty of Water Pokemon (mostly fish, so don't look for any Wailord). We'd also have lots of Bird Pokemon, as well as others you'd expect to find in a forest, like Ursaring and Stantler. Also some of the smaller mammals.

As for the environment, there would be large areas of industry and suburbia surrounded by forests, at least in the southern half of the LP. The Northern half of the LP and the Upper Peninsula would be mostly forests and rural areas, with some mountains. Don't look for any deserts. And it will get very snowy in the winter.

Finland... hmm, what would that be? xD

REINDEERS REINDEERS AND MORE REINDEERS
and oh yeah, forests everywhere. :C

Massachussetts. I assume it would have a few major cities, and many small towns. Mostly forested, with nice grasslands and swamps. Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard would make epic post E4 locales. Not sure on starters, though....

South east of England. There'd be Wingull (a LOT of Wingull), loads of bug-type pokemon, loads of flying-type pokemon, loads of animal pokemon.

Apparently states are countries now. O.o

In America, we'd probably have an eagle starter, a trout starter, and a deer starter. Plus lots of forest-oriented pokemon.

US is kinda big for it's own region :/

I guess I'll continue the state trend.

Florida: Lots of forests, swamps, and a big emphasis on water. No mountains whatsoever (highest point is like 350 feet above sea level >_>;), Lots of small towns and 4 or so big cities. For pokemon, tons of water types and forest dwelling pokemon and not too many fire or ice types.

Starters:
A manatee or alligator water type
A Fire Ant fire type
A Snake grass type

As for other pokemon, a panther dark type should be here, as well as a blue jay flying type. Guess that's it.

I'd love to have Ireland like this. Obviously it would a milder climate with lots of smaller towns and a few big cities like Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford.

I think the starters would be a hare, red deer and a golden eagle, or a least an eagle chick.

There would be a lot of open areas, a few forests, and more mountains and caves in the western parts than eastern.

Other Pokémon would probably include a lot of birds, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and plenty based on insects and plants. Oh, and a dolphin Pokémon based on Fungi in Dingle that would be available for capture on Fridays or something.

Washington. We'd have quite a few Wingulls and Murkrows meandering about, in addition to an assortment of bugs based off of spiders and pill bugs, if there isn't one already. In the water, you'd probably find a salmon Pokemon, correct me if there is one.

For starters, we'd have a grass-type deer for sure, and maybe a kind of salmon Pokemon as a water starter. Can't think of anything for a fire one, though.

And every friggin' time you enter the area, it's raining. It never stops raining. It's always raining.

Illinois, a bunch of Rattata, Sentrets, Zigzagoon, and a few Wargles.

starters
grass: gerbil
fire: salamander
water: painted turtle
