I found this interesting survey that indicates which parts of the United States your dialect matches the closest. This can also work for non-Americans as well, as it gives perspective as to what dialect you are closest to. Just do it and see for yourselves.

My results showed that my top 3 cities are Sacramento, Modesto and Oceanside, CA. This is strange because I have never been to California, nor is anyone I know IRL from there.

I'm too lazy to post my map, but feel free to post yours.

Yonkers, New York, or New Jersey.
Damn.
I'm Canadian, if you didn't know. Specifically, Ontarian.

Lexington, KY
Chattanooga, TN
Winston-Salem, NC

pretty close to being right since I live in Kentucky.

My closest matches the first time I took the survey were Greensboro, North Carolina; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Richmond, Virginia. My furthest matches were Des Moines, Iowa; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; and Detroit, Michigan. After taking it a few more times so I could get different combinations of questions and experiment with questions I was unsure about, I started getting a lot more cities in Florida in my closest matches results. Other than that, my over-all results have been pretty consistent: my manner of speaking would fit in pretty well in the area east of the Appalachians and it would stick out pretty sorely in the Mid-West. I live in Florida, so I'm also pleasantly surprised at all the Floridian matches I got.

Des Moines, Iowa
Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota
Detroit Michigan

Pretty much the Midwest.

So apparently G50 and I are complete opposites. xD

I got Yonkers, New York, and Baltimore. I live in Delaware, so that's pretty close.

Grand Rapids, Toledo, and Detroit. Which is spot on, since I live about an hour from Detroit.

I got Colombus (Georgia), Jackson, and Philadelphia. Philadelphia makes sense because I live near it, but it's odd how I got the other two simply because I say y'all. xDDD I guess cause my mom grew up down there.

Yonkers, Newark, and New York. It seems I will never escape my northern upbringing no matter how hard I try. xD

It's funny because I live in the southern United States now, and people always ask me where I'm from because I, apparently, have a New York accent. I only lived in New York for around 4 years, from ages 2-6, until I moved to Mississippi. Apparently that's all it takes to start talking like them. Haha!

I ended up with Overland Park, Kansas, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Anchorage, Alaska for my dialect.

Overland Park is pretty damn close to Kansas City, so I'd believe it. XD

Apparently a posh southern English accent gets three very disparate hotspots: California coast, NY, and eastern Texas (i wish i were kidding). Your computer programme can't handle me!View attachment 92331

I got

Newark / Paterson

Jersey City

Yonkers

Dead accurate as I'm from New Jersey.

Interestingly, it says the Southern states are a good match too.

So apparently, My places are Yonkers, Jersey City and Newark/Paterson. strange since I live ACROSS THE COUNTRY!! IN HOLLYWOOD!!!

Took the test. I'm not American, and not even a native speaker. And apparently, I'm the first non-native here to take the test :D In reality my accent varies (depending on the words pronounced, my level of concentration and the phase of the moon) between being I have absolutely no idea what (when I'm not sleepy and thus able to concentrate on how I actually speak) and being a pretty thick Russian accent (when I'm sleepy and as a result barely articulate*). What I took as a standard for this test was my average pronunciaton when I don't bother with how I speak but at the same time don't fall into a thick barely comprehensible accent. So the results were...

The most similar: Honolulu, Providence (had to google this one) and San Jose
The least similar: New Orleans, Detroit, Corpus Christi (once more I was forced to resort to the almighty Google)

*The key to a Russian accent is to constantly keep your lips almost closed

I grew up in Australia and am a native speaker. Nothing to do with America, so I was curious to see the differences.

The Dakotas and Michigan don't really agree with me. The west coast, the east, and southeast are much more similar. Of course, most of the answers gave nothing but deep blue spotted with light patches, so I don't think it's spread out that well.

I got almost all of the western part along with Alaska and those northeastern states.
I have no connection to 'Murica however.
