There are many sidequests in-game, events which you can participate in for whenever you'd like! Some require your assistance in pokemon battles, and some are just time-based. What did you like?

I liked the Blend Master event in Emerald. Gold Pokeblocks for all I want lolz.

This could technically could or couldn't be a sidequest, but activating the Regis in R/S/E was one of the most totally unique things I've ever done in a videogame.

Well, if cutscenes are included, it's a tie between the rise of N's Castle, and the intervening of Rayquaza at Sootopolis City.

I'll agree with Hyper Dragoon - the whole side-quest with the Regis was interesting, and actually confused me a few times. We need more things like that.

I also loved the Regis side-quest. I didn't have access to the internet at the time, so I had to borrow a book with the braille language from a library to solve the puzzles and catch the Pokemon. I felt like an real archeologist. Good times.

The Shaymin Event in Platinum. I liked how the barren, remote area became a flowery paradise.

The Unown riddles sure weren't rewarding... but solving them and digging up into the mystery was awesome.

I'm talking about the walls text, not the puzzles. Like, "LIGHT" and using flash or arriving from the Union cave and then see "WATER" and have to come back later with a water stone.

The regis was pretty unique too, though it could've been more involving.

I liked all of them so much, making a decision on which is my favorite is impossible

I enjoy puzzle elements in the games, but I feel a lot more could be done with them... all the gyms in Unova could easily have been puzzle-ified, based on their concepts (although no further than a maze).
On that note, I had lots of fun in the Trick Master's house!

I liked the Celebi event in HG-SS. Traveling in time, stopping Giovanni. Good fun!
But seeing all the post about the Regis makes me remember how much fun (but sometimes tedious) it was getting the Regis (it also reminds me that I need to get the Regis again! XD ). So that goes in my top events category as well.
Might also throw in Mt. Silver and battling Red. One of (if not) the biggest challenges in all the Pokemon games!

Sinjoh Ruins was slightly creepy (well, the music at least), but it was a cool place. I also liked unlocking the Regi's in Platinum.
I wasn't fortunate enough to get the event for Shaymin, but I'm sure that would've been cool. I also didn't get the event for Arceus, but I heard the music from the event item is really creepy.

I don't know about you guys, but the places (and events) I enjoy the most are the ones that involve the most suspense and quietness. Like Newmoon Island, when Darkrai isn't there. It seems like such a nice island, but it's empty, and makes you have this feeling inside. Maybe I'm just weird, but...

i remember how fun getting the regis were for me. seeing this thread reminded me. that one is definetely my favorite too.

the rotom in the old chateau was kind of scary for me. i guess i just don't like the idea of seeing ghosts. even in games.

That reminds me, the Spiritomb event is also one of the most unique things I've seen, and honestly had the potential to be really, really creepy, given the way is it hidden and the implications of it all.

... unfortunately, the execution didn't work out so well. Like, almost all players that would encounter it do so because they know about it. Having it more possible to accidentally trigger it, perhaps with an slightly larger and more obvious event, probably would've worked greatly in its favor and made it more memorable.

The whole "connect the game with others" aspect and how an evil spirit shows up, it really seems like creepypasta material. They could've exploited it much more...

Anything involving N. :-D

Well, besides that...I liked being partnered up with another trainer (Marley, Buck, etc.) in a certain area in DPPt. I wouldn't mind doing that again sometime in a future generation (or Gen V).

I also really liked the Abyssal Ruins in B/W. The music by itself is just...epic. I hope it is expanded on in the future.

Oh and the Trick Master's house in RSE, too!
