There's been a thread on this already, but it was last active in 2010 and I was too scared to even think about reviving it...but anyways, that's past the point.

What are your favorite soundtracks in Pokemon games? This can include the ranger series and mystery dungeon as well, I know I have loads of favorites from Explorers of Sky :LOL:

Will include only some of my favorites just to get the ball rolling, because there'd be just too many to list if I went back and listened to everything :love:

•Sinnoh route music (Diamond/Pearl)
•Twinleaf town (Diamond/Pearl)
•Sinnoh snow route music (Diamond/Pearl)
•Goldenrod City (HG/SS)
•(Most all dungeon music in Poké MD games)
•Etc, etc, etc.

These are just some that came to mind first, as I'm currently replaying my Diamond version...I could name so many more if I really put my mind to it, which is what I want you guys to do!

Which gen do you think has the best music/soundtracks overall? Personal favorites? Maybe even why you like the soundtrack? Let's make this thread as active and enjoying as possible!
 
Gen VI. Both XY and ORAS. Pretty much the whole soundtrack of both.

And Mystery Dungeon EoS and Super.

RSE Elite Four theme, just because I played Ruby the most as a kid. Hearing the intense music really set up the likewise intense battles I had against Sidney and the rest.
 
Basically the entire OSTs of Emerald, ORAS and BW2. Also many of the GSC tracks as well.
 
I like the classic GSC soundtrack the most, but I have two songs that stand out in particular.

Verdanturf Town: I would just close my GBA and listen to it before I go to bed - it was such a nice peaceful song to listen to.
The final battle music with Red or Lance in GSC - sooo epic and awesome
 
I may go back and do full lists later. But for now, I will say that my favorite whole soundtrack is a tie - BW seems to have the most individual hits for me (with the Celestial/Dragonspiral Tower theme being one of my favorites from the entire series), but I absolutely love the overall musical tone and theme of DP's soundtrack. Very cozy and jazzy, but also somewhat cold. Being the introvert that I am, that appeals to me quite a lot.

Any Zinnia-related music is also amazing.
 
Gen 4: Twinleaf Town, Cynthia's Theme, HGSS bike theme
Gen 5: Unwavering Emotions, BW2 Gym Leader theme (I forget BW's theme), Iris' theme
Gen 6: Snowbelle City, XY bike theme (imo it's the best one), Magma/Aqua grunt theme, Fortree City, Slateport City
 
There are a ton of songs that I love and my favourites are constantly changing, but I thought I'd bring up this amazing track that seems mostly ignored by everyone, including the developers because "Let's have an amazing song play in an area that lasts for 1/2 a millisecond and never appear again! :D"

When N saves you from being murderfrozen by Ghetsis and Kyurem. It plays all the way up until Ghetsis activates the Splicers.

From what I recall, that was still a pretty short scene as well, even if it is at least thrice as long as where the song originally played. Still cool to know that it did get a little bit of love, though.
 
I love the Red/Blue/Yellow soundtrack since it the classic and grew up with it. I love all of the songs but if I had to pick a favourite it would be cycling theme
XY is up there too and my favourite would be Kalos Region Theme
 
I loved the Unraveling Emotion from Pokemon Black and White. It's just that good!!! :D

Shoutout to Cynthia's themes from B/W for being absolutely incredible. Better than the Gen IV versions, and the B2W2 Sinnoh Champion remix. One reason I'd want a D/P remake are those incredible themes re-done all over again.

Also, An Unwavering Heart from B/W. The X/Y version is also incredible.

HG/SS soundtrack is also a favourite of mine. That second disc of the GB sounds soundtrack is likely as close to an official G/S/C soundtrack as we'll ever get.
 
There's just so many soundtracks that I absolutely love from the whole Pokemon series. I absolutely love HGSS's soundtrack, especially the Kanto ones, so beautiful. My most favourite soundtrack however belongs to Gen 5, my favourites being N's, Ghetsis's, Colress's, the Gym Battle and almost all of the remastered themes from PWT. Cynthia's theme also sounds amazing in Gen 5.
