Your Favourite/Least Favourite Moment of Gen IV

As we all know, on September 18th 2010, when Black and White are released, Gen IV will come to an end, with Gen V replacing it. But what were favourite/least favourite moment about Gen IV?

My Favourite Moment:
When HeartGold and SoulSilver were confirmed, in May 2009. Everyone knew the GS remakes were coming, but on that day, our dreams had come true. Well, my dreams. I'll never forget that day that I clicked on Serebii.net, and saw the pic of New Bark Town on the front page. Ah.

My Least Favourite Moment:
Their were two bad moments of December 2008; and both of them were from the anime. First, a silhouette of a 'yellow, small electric type pokemon'. "OMG, IT'S A GEN V POKEMON!", Loads of people probably thought. But, it turned out to be a Pichu with a notched ear. We had to wait until February 2010 for the first Gen V pokemon. But, I think you can guess what worst part of the month was. On December 16th 2008, we discovered that sadly, Maddie Blaustein died in her sleep. EDIT: Another bit of bad news; I joined these forums in that months.
 
Heart Gold / Soul Silver coming out was by far the best. I had recently bought Gold online but the battery was dead and I did a terrible job replacing it. Now I have my babies on my DS. <3

Worst would probably be... eh, Spikey-eared Pichu probably wins. Piplup getting the Everstone was annoying as well. Other than that, it was learning how much the staff had changed over the years. For me personally, learning how Masuda-san had pretty much taken over completely put a huge damper on my mood. Not that he's a terrible director/producer/general leader guy, I just wonder what's happened to Tajiri-san. :(
 
Favorite: When HGSS was announced. The forums were flooded with people (like in the record right now), and many fanboys went crazy over the news.
Least favorite:
zOMG IT'S A NEW GEN V POKEMON SPECULATE oh wait, it's another pichu form.
 
-Having to chase after roaming Pokemon
-Battling your rival right after receiving your starter Pokemon in Platinum
 
Best moments
-Turning on SS, picking my starter, then not even batting for an hour, just walking around in circals thinking how awsome being followed by my little chikorita
- Getting on to PBR, and kicking Dialga after Dialga and Palkia after Palkia's ass with a Machamp and a Golem

Worst
-Getting on to PBR after platnuim and fighting the same guy 5 times in a row.
-HGSS full restore spamming son of a rest talking milktank gymleaders
 
Best Moment:
When HGSS were announced. We knew it was coming, but we needed an official sign. One of the happiest Pokémon days of my life haha.

Worst Moment:
When most of us were mislead by the Spikey-eared Pichu :(

Getting called a ' Noob ' by the guide or Oreburgh.

Least favourite:
Beating HG so quick I restarted.
 
Playing HGSS = Best

Realizing they added a lot in to the games such as the mandatory legendary fight, people that comes running after you if you didn't picked up a certain item was probably the worst, i don't like when the game makers think of you as an idiot, i knew where Lugia was when i was 10, i know it'll be there now as well.
 
Favorite: Playing Platinum.

Least Favorite: Seeing Team Rocket and battling against them AGAIN in HGSS.
 
Favourite: Storyline of Platinum, the expansion of Team Galactic as well as the way Cyrus was portrayed.

Espically the hypocritical way he want about it, lying to all of the grunts and even Saturn about it being all about a new world for all and even lying to Mars and Jupiter about how they were important to him.

They made him a lot more evil than the players were probably expecting.



Least Favourite: Team Rocket in HGSS

I'll admit now, I'm not a fan of the Johto games and don't understand the sometimes rabid fanboyism over them.

But Team Rocket is the single worst thing about the main storyline and the games in general.

Only just worse than the fake difficulty, (Hide being flame proof shield) where it was hard because all the wild pokemon were, after eckruteak, atleast 20-30 levels lower that the gyms and the trainers not much better.

But Team Rocket are just laughable. What makes it worse is that they start of incredibly evil, cutting the tails of still living Slowpokes ... but then nothing. I didn't encounter them again until i had defeated Jasmine when they still were evil, forcing magikarp to evolve by blasting signals at them ... only there was no mention of the slowpokes and i had nearly forgotten they were in the game.


And what was all their evil for ...?

So they could take over the radio station and call out to mommy Giovanni.

Gold/Kotone turns up, gives them a stern talking to ... and poof, all gone.


After Team Galactic in Sinnoh, Johto's Rockets were rubbish and should have been improved.
 
Best: Having Platinum. Great story and features.
Least: Team Rocket returning again. I faced them twice already and It kinda gets annoying. It has purpose in the anime, but not in the game.
 
Best: Playing HGSS. The replay value is so high because of the walking pokémon. :D

Worst: Maddie Blaustien's death for sure. That was such a huge loss. D:
 
Best: HGSS got me involved here.

Worst: I actually started to get a little bored with SS.
 
My Favorite Moment came in HG when I finally took all my pokemon out for a nice walk.

My Least favorite Moment: Spiky eared Picku. 'Nuff said
 
I. REAL LIFE MOMENTS

Favorite moment:
OF COURSE, when HGSS was announced. While I admit my personal nostalgia overrated the games a little, I still think they surpass Platinum. I'll never forget that very day when I fangasmed over 3 seconds of NewBark Town music.
Another good moment was when I joined this forums. That day (October 26, 2008) I met the girl I'm in love with (ironically, she hates video games and mocks me for my obsession with Pokémon).

Worst moment:
The day Platinum was announced. That night two burglars attacked me and took my DS Lite, my Diamond and FireRed Versions (with a nearly complete National Dex) as well as my headphones, which I had bought a couple of weeks earlier.


II. GAMEPLAY MOMENTS

Favorite moment:
The morning of March 14, 2010. When I picked up my Cyndaquil and just at the precise moment I step on THE VERY FIRST GRASSY TILE, the screen went black. BAM! That was my first SoulSilver battle, as early as could be. And the music was awesome.

Worst moment:
Platinum's beginning dishing out the Red Gyarados reference which for me had made DP feel like a semisequel to GSC (and thus, the "real" Pokémon 3). I was so dissapointed when I found about it.
Well, I'm started to get a bit tired of SoulSilver...
 
Here's some other moments:

Best: Playing HGSS. I had never played Johto before then, and thus, I was most excited about this game. I finished it in two days, and restarted it soon afterward.

Worst: Aside from Spiky-Eared Pichu and Maddie Blastein's death, there was another bad moment: When we are at holiday in 2007, someone had stolen my first DS Lite, along with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue. And the fact that I had completed it the most I could meant that I couldn't finish the second copy, because it wasn't the same after I first played it. (I did get a new DS Lite that October, and got a DSi April 2009.
