You guessed it, I'm back with yet again another poll question lol, sorry about that ^_-

I'm actually really surprised though that these haven't been asked before because again I searched everywhere and couldn't find any topics so here I am and this time I'm asking...

What is your favourite Pocket Monsters Opening(s)?

Mezase Pokemon Master!
Rival!
OK!
Mezase Pokemon Master! (Whiteberry Version)
Ready Go!
Advanced Adventure!
Challenger!
Pokémon Symphonic Medley
Battle Frontier!
Spurt!
Together!

Now, this is actually going to be quite difficult choice to make as, well I'm sure you all already know this...the Japanese Pocket Monsters music is just AMAZING!!!

I LOVE all of the openings so much!! They are far superior to any of the dub versions despite them being really well done as well. They are all so powerful what with the animation, vocals and messages.

I also only found out that 5 of them are sung by Satoshi's (Ash) voice actress Rica Matsumoto about a year ago and they are all amazing, it's just like he is singing them for us (well I guess he is lol) Pokemon character images ^.^

Now, if I had to choose my favourite...hum...I guess that my absolute favourite Japanese opening so far is 'Spurt'! It is just so powerful and I can really picture Satoshi singing it. I also loved how the animation featured every Pokemon he ever had!

After this it would be Ready Go, OK!, Pokemon Master, Together, Battle Frontier, Rival, Advanced Adventure, Challenger and Symphonic Melody.

What about you guys?

All~!

Of which my, well, really favorite favorites are:-
Mezase Pokemon Master!
OK!
Advanced Adventure
Spurato!
Together

... XD

Spurt is my absolute favorite opening ever. It's a great song by itself, but when you add in all the great images that were put to it to make the opening, you've got one hell of a show opener.

Second favorite is OK!, third is Challenger!, fourth is Battle Frontier, fifth is Mezase Pokemon Master! (Whiteberry Version), sixth is Mezase Pokemon Master! (original), and seventh is Ready Go!

The rest I don't care for.

The only one I've heard is together... AND IT WAS SO COOL! I wish I could learn what it's
talking about...

I chose Mezase, Mezase 2001, Advance Adventure, Battle Frontier, Spurt, and Together.

I love "OK!" in its superior instrumental version.

WOW!!! I mean..... WOW!!! It might not be the same order I'd go with, but those're the exact same openings I found noteworthy, with me being rather "meh" on Rival, Advanced Adventure, Symphonic Medley (in fact, I'm starting to outright hate this one with its repeated usage in the anime... at least Ready, Go! had the benefit of being something I was fond of in the first place), and Together.

As for my favorite.... dunno. Battle Frontier, probably. Spurt!! loses some points because I'm not too fond of Satoshi's little monologue in the middle of the full version. On the other hand, if we're talking about the openings, and not the songs themselves, then I'd give my vote to Spurt!! (especially for showing off all of Satoshi's Pokemon, Yougiras included, and a guitar riff featuring Jukain in action ^^). Though, I would like to give special mention to Rival.... even though the song's nothing to write home about, it had its own bit of nostalgia. In one scene, we see old favorites like Akira, Seiyo, Kaoruko.... and the mountain man from Fushigidane's Mysterious Garden XD (seriously, I love that guy for managing to weasel his way into an opening the way he did, in spite of literally being a nameless oneshot).

My absolute favorite is "Spurt!" for the same reasons Dogasu listed. After that, I like "Battle Frontier," "Together," "Ready Go!," "Mezase Pokémon Master 2001," and "Challenger!!"

I love OPs, and the anticipation that there will be a new one soon is great.

i love then all. though i do wish that the dub could just sing them in english instead of replace them with crap.

This one's tough for me. There are seven that I think are just outstanding, two that I think are good as well, and the latter two which are just okay. But here's the list in the order that occured to me.

1. Mezase Pokemon Master!

My absolute favorite. It's really uplifting and gets me into the mood for the upcoming episodes. And just the fact that it's the very first opening makes it all the more memorable to me.

9. Battle Frontier!

Right up there with Mezase Pokemon Master! for the exact same reason. It's just really upbeat and uplifting.

5. Ready Go!

Another favorite of mine. And the fact that it gets overused in the series doesn't really phase me all that much.

7. Challenger!

this opening stands out for being unique among the other openings. But it's very good in its own way.

3. OK!

Kind of a rock tune, but alos extremely good. And I love the instrumental versions (yes, there's more than one BGM tune to that song).

10. Spurt!

My sixth one on the list, but still very good. BTW, does anyone but me notice a striking resemblance to Challenger!.

2. Rival!

Yet another really good tune. The second Japanese opening still keeps me in good spirits.

6. Advanced Adventure!

Still good like the others above, but I just don't get the same uplifting feel that I do with the ones I listed before this. But I will admit that I love the trademark instrumental version.

4. Mezase Pokemon Master! (Whiteberry Version)

I guess this one's low on my list because it's a remix of an earlier opening, and that just seemed a tad bit lazy to me. Nonetheless, the instrumentals are very catchy.

11. Together!

I guess I'm okay with this song, but has has a tingy feel to it that doesn't really do much for me. I really hope this opening reaches its conclusion by the next few episodes.

8. Pokémon Symphonic Medley

PSM doesn't really mesh well, and I wonder what the producers were thinking when they made this opening. It's not terrible as an into (like some Dub intros that I know of), but I'm really not too fond of the constant insertion into episodes during herioc, climatic battle scenes. It just doesn't fit there.

if OK! and Advanced Adventure are anything to go by (they were both openings to the beginning of a new generation, and apparently lasted longer than subsequent openings, at around 70 episodes), it shouldn't be much longer now. Episodes up to 68 have been announced so far, and episode 65 just aired recently.

I do too. But one reason, most likely, the opening themes get replaced is because the Japanese openings are two to three times longer than what the network wants. If they kept full-sized openings, PUSA'd probably have to remove some footage from the actual episode to make up for it.

And yes, I know shows like One Piece get to keep their long openings and endings. But one thing I've learned from watching Cartoon Network all these years is that the decisions they make almost never make sense anymore.

I've got to say my favourite opening is Challenger! followed by the original Mezase Pokémon Master!.

The former is one of my favourites because I just love the beat, and the part where Haruka and Shuu appear split screen in the opening is awesome!

Mezase Pokémon Master, for me, is just like what mogoldmember said. It's very uplifting and it puts me in the mood for *anything* I am iffy on doing.

Also, as much as I don't like it, I also really have a strong connection with Together, mainly because it was the first opening theme that I had caught (when it was released) of a Japanese Pokémon series (I mean D/P as a whole series, I had seen Battle Frontier! and Spurt!, but not Advanced Adventure!).

I love Rival! (just hate how it starts out), Advanced Adventure, Pokemon Symphonic Medley, Battle Frontier and Together most of all, though I like others.

All the Japanese openings have hell lot more energy than the American versions, but my absolute fave would be Battle Frontier, I can't ever get sick of that song, and I listen to on on my ipod everyday.

From favorite to least, I enjoy these songs sung by Rica Matsumoto:

-OK!
-Spurt
-Mezase Pokemon Master
-Rival
-Challenger

I also enjoy Ready Go!, the rest I'm mediocre. So far, Rica Matsumoto hasn't sung a song for DP yet, so I'm hoping the next opening to be sung by her.

I like how all the Japanese openings are different from each other. Well, more so than the English versions. The English 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th openings are very similar in styles of music although I do like them.

My favourite opening is Ready Go! It was the very first Japanese song I heard, about 2 years ago (but I didn't know it was Pokemon at the time) and I loved it. The video was taken off of YouTube which made me sad because I couldn't heard the song, but then I started watching through the Pokemon openings and was so happy to find it again! A

After Ready Go! its:
Battle Frontier
Spurt!
OK!
Mezase Pokemon Master
Challenger
Together

So far, Rica Matsumoto hasn't sung a song for DP yet, so I'm hoping the next opening to be sung by her.

I do too! Not only has she sung at least 1 for every series but she has sung one for every region! Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn and Kanto Battle Frontier!

So looking through this thread, it seems that Argy is the only one who doesn't put Together at the bottom of his list ^^;;

Oddly enough, Together is one of the songs featured in the current version of Taiko no Tatsujin, a drum rhythm game. I remember that because when I went to play the game one day, I saw the song and wondered why one of the most percussion-ally challenged songs in in Pocket Monsters history is included in a drum game.

At least having Challenger!, Advance Adventure, and Mezase Pokemon Master! in the Donkey Konga games made more sense.

My favorite is Challenger. Not totally sure why though. I guess because the song is fast-paced and upbeat, and the visuals match well imo. But that could be said for practically any of the openings XD

Besides Challenger, I also like:
- Rival
- Together (so cute! :D)
- Ready Go
- Battle Frontier

I like all of them a lot though, except Advanced Adventure :p

crap, my post didn't go through....

OMG I'm so LUCKY, it's still in clipboard memory and I only have memory for ONE copy!
O_O the gods are with me today

I like Together, OK, Mezase Pokemon Master (Whiteberry) and Challenger the best
Unlike you two above, I dont find Rica that pleasant when singing. I prefer her in Satoshi mode. I like Challenger mostly for the music and thought OK wasn't sung by Rica for the longest time

Together - because it's happy, marks the beginning of the best Pokemon saga so far, and reminds me of when I first fell in love with ... I dont need to finish this sentence, do I.
Challenger - I just thought the music was cool
OK - very first Japanese Pokemon song I heard that I knew it was a Japanese Pokemon song. Hearing Pokemon Ondo in the background during the Flame Pokemon-athon didn't count cuz I just thought it was some made up background music.
MPM Whiteberry - because the original wasn't better. This opening was cuter and funner than the original.

I think Pokemon Symphonic Medley was epic. I think the music people in Pokemon did too because they used it so much that they overused it almost to the point where it became a running gag
I still love it to bits though.

So looking through this thread, it seems that Argy is the only one who doesn't put Together at the bottom of his list ^^;;
well if my post made it through....
btw, isn't Argy a girl?

My favorite is Challenger. Not totally sure why though. I guess because the song is fast-paced and upbeat, and the visuals match well imo. But that could be said for practically any of the openings XD
Maybe it has a certain kind of beat that's just catchy. I liked Challenger because of that too
