Your feelings then and now about Gen IV and D/P

I was thinking back to before D/P and Gen IV existed, and to when it first existed and I know my feelings towards the IV gen changed from then to now. Such as:

I thought they were purposly trying to make evolution stages into 3 and have nearly all pokemon evolve.

I did not like lickylicky as it looked like a funny way of redoing likitung one of my favourite pokemon

Too many legendaries

I remember thinking, oh no, not another two eeveelutions, will it ever stop?

Thinking togekiss was bizzare

Disliking Bidoof/bibarel, butI still do and so do others so its nothing unnormal

there was more, but I forget a lot of it.

When Gen III came out I thought the Aron line was just a rip of rhyhorn/rhydon

but watching the anime, and playing the game, I began liking a lot of pokemon, even lickylicky

I like glaceon and leafeon now

Togekiss does look a little odd, but its now a favourite of mine.

What things did you think when Gen IV was first out and now after seeing anime and playing the games?

I don't really watch the anime but my initial thoughts and feelings about gen 4 were

Chimchar is lame,all new babies useless, evolutions pretty cool but then I saw Probopass,Pachirisu "ugh, another pikachu knock off".

Chimchar grew on me I still wish he had a tail not just his rear flaming

I still dislike some baby pokemon but now Im quite fond of Budew

Probopass still creepy but the others grew on me

Pachirisu I still wish it had an original look but I guess its ok...

When I first started playing Diamond, I really HATED Croagunk, simply because I thought it was ugly. When I started watching the anime again, Croagunk started to grow on me. I tolerate it now. I never liked Bibarel, and I still don't. I'm absolutely in love with Leafeon and Glaceon. Enough said.

I didnt like most of the new Pokemon, and still dont D:

I thought Dawn wasnt so bad for a while. Oh, how that changed.

Lets see... I started off not really liking the gym leaders or the elite four, but I've totally fallen in love with them.

And I started pairing Jun/Dawn and Flint/Volkner (!) . Also Byron/Riley a bit

I haven't touched my copy of Pearl since...oh...October. 2007.

That's how I feel about the game now.

I didn't very much have confidence in the new evos until later on. Then I noticed that some of them were, scarily, USEFUL.
