We have threads for hair color and the current condition of your hair, but what is your ideal/preferred hair length for yourself? What hair lengths do you like to see on others? How about facial hair?

Note: Opinions don't need to mesh, but please avoid stereotypes and respect the opinions and hair style choices of others. No comments on how a hair style or length is "gross" or "ugly."

(disclosure - we've closed the previous threads due to negativity and to include everyone irregardless of gender or sexual orientation.)

Re: Your ideal/preferred hair length

For myself, I like to keep it short; a bit longer than what's considered a buzz cut.

For others, well, what I think looks best on others is really dependent on the face of a person. I find some more attractive with short hair and some more attractive with long hair; it truly depends. Though if the hair is wavy, I like it no matter the length - wavy hair just always looks good whenever I spot it. ;y;

Re: Your ideal/preferred hair length

For my hair, I prefer a two inch length and I don't brush it. I've had a very loose perm in the past (I was going for a Bob Dylan look) and I had hair past my shoulders back when I was super into heavy metal. I was mistaken as a girl several times when I had long hair, lol.

My facial hair is kept down to a stubble or I'm clean shaven, depending on how I'm feeling that morning.

I like my hair long, why not grow it? The pre-Hellenic Minoans grew it, the Spartans grew it, we have our hair for a reason!
Anyway, on women, I like the Medieval princess style:

Re: Your ideal/preferred hair length

I like my hair to be long, not ridiculously long but I like it long.

On other people? I don't care much about hair length.

Re: Your ideal/preferred hair length

For the longest time I was really into dark hair, all my exes have black hair. I like longish, kind of curly hair. Nowadays I'm really into blondes, not sure what triggered that switch. I also like tastefully dyed hair; reds, pale pinks, all that good stuff, not too unnatural like neon green or anything. I also think some girls look lovely when their hair is simple, like just tied back instead of some extravaganza.

I'm really into long hair on a woman. I don't discriminate but if I had the choice between long and short hair on a woman, I'll choose long each and every time. Luckily my girlfriend is nice enough to grow her hair out for me. The color doesn't matter to me as long as it isn't short. I'll say this though, if I'm at a bar and a lady walks in with long, auburn hair I'll go straight to her like a bug light.

For myself, I have short hair, but I wish it was longer. As for a style, I like it down flat as opposed to being curled up or anything else.

(And I'll just repeat what I said on the other thread.)

I personally prefer shorter hair on a guy, but not so short and low that they look almost bald. I don't really have a preference about any particular style over anther one or anything. It just depends.

For mine, I want to avoid the shoulder length hair because it's hard to tie and it keeps getting in my eyes and falls in my food when I'm eating. I prefer my hair either chopped short or lengthy (easy to tie or pin up). As for color, I like my black/brown hair, but I also think chestnut is pretty. I dyed my hair a few months ago and I was satisfied with the results :3

For others, I prefer if they could also keep their hair from falling into food when eating. Other than that, I don't mind hairstyles as long as it isn't too wacky.
My irl friend has the most adorable hairstyle and I really really love it :D She looks so cute - It's the same as Tsunemori Akane!!

For MY hair I prefer it long because its easier to make look presentable then short hair. Not like curling it or anything just making it look like I haven't been sleeping on it for days.

For other people I don't really have a preference. I like long hair, short hair, natural colors, unnatural colors, styled and un-styled. It just depends on what the individual person looks like and what they like.

I keep my hair long, not shoulder-length long but still long. People usually say I look like a skater boy (I admit, I do skateboard a lot). Americans who have seen my hair say that my hair look like a "lax bro" (lacrosse player) hairstyle. (Quite funny considering nobody where I live plays lacrosse.) I tried cutting my hair a little shorter when I was 17, but girls liked me better with long hair.

I prefer girls with brown or red hair - I have no interest in blondes. Hair length doesn't matter as long as the hair looks nice - I don't mind girls with short hair.

I dont have any preference for others' hair, its what they like.

As for my hair, I want it cut short because its beginning to bother me a lot and is better for summer. For now until that happens, I like it pulled back in a ponytail to keep it out of the way and it looks better and bothers me less. I like my hair blow dried smooth and sometimes flat ironed because I like my hair straight(its naturally curly/wavy but the texture/feel of it bugs me and I dont like the way it looks)

As for my hair, I keep it pretty standard. You know how the main characters in Pokémon usually have short hair with natural colors? Mine is like that, short and brown. I don't have facial hair 'cause I'm only 14 and it would look weird even if I did grow it.

As for other people, I don't really care. I've never seen anyone that had a weird hairstyle or one that didn't fit them, and I'm not the type of person to pay much attention to the appearance of others anyways.

My hair has always been the same; light-ginger in the summer, auburn in the winter. Very long, curly and messy. I get judged for it, and some people think I don't care about my appearance because I don't do anything with it - and some days I just wish my hair would straighten and be shorter... but I dunno. A lot of my identity revolves around my hair because I've never seen anyone else like that.

In other people, I think my friend's old hairstyle was beautiful. She had light brown / blonde highlights and her hair was quite long and very wavy. It looked very natural - but apparently it took her a while to get it like that. Though I guess it depends on the person, what suits her might not suit other people.

For myself, I will always keep my hair its natural color and I only use organic shampoo/conditioner with vitamins. I like keeping my hair long and tying it into braids or ponytails.

For guys, I don't care about anything as long as he takes care of it.

I prefer my hair to be short, nothing fancy or wacky. I don't dye my hair, I just keep it the natural dark brown I was given at birth.

For myself, I prefer short to medium-length hair (an inch past my shoulders is too long for me). Simple and easy to take care of since I don't like doing much with it.
In my junior year of high school I dyed it a really dark red, then the following year I did light blonde on top of red before switching to darker blonde underneath. After that I did light and dark blonde highlights until last year. Now I'm back to my natural dishwasher blonde.

For others, it depends on the person. I tend to favor short hair on both guys and girls (shorter on guys than on girls), but some people really look great with long hair or with none at all.
As for natural colors, I like blonde and black a bit more than red or brown, but all are equally good. Unnatural colors, red, blue, green, purple, or a mix, all are good too. They seem to fade so quickly though, so kudos to you if you can manage the upkeep well.

I wear my hair down most of the time, and I prefer having short hair (a little above the shoulders) because it's a lot faster and easier to brush it that way. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't stay short very long.
