What job or career path would you avoid at all costs?

(also let's keep it grounded, so no ridiculous answers like sewer monster :p)

I'd really hate to do door-to-door sales. I just do not work in a highly stressful scenario like that going door-to-door selling something nobody wants.

Sewer Monster

Working at a fast food joint I guess.

a night job, becuse it is so creepy being alone In a building at night. :bawl:

Ditch beast..?

- Nursing or any caretaking of people.
- Janitor is another one I'd avoid like a plague, I'm much better messing up than cleaning!
- Anything related to adult-entertainment.
- Religious jobs.
- Elementary or middle-school teacher.
- Bum

Edit: forgot the most notable of course; any career which would violate animal-rights or cause them suffering. There's a hidden tree-hugger inside me, too..

Slaughterhouse worker of any kind. Goes without saying really, but worse for me being a strongly moral vegetarian.

Juice making factory worker (surprisingly vile) - For a short while I lived with a guy who worked at a juice factory and every day he came back stinking. One shower is never enough.

Any burger or meat related fast food "restaurant" worker of any kind. Again, for the vegetarian reason, but also i would hate to be a part of the workforce that sells something that barely even resembles food, for the benefit of some overly rich CEO who has less morals than Satan.

Anything where I'd have to work around food (I really just don't feel comfortable handling food), animals (especially big dogs and aquatic animals), or garbage (or anything else dirty). But the absolute worst job that I'd never want to have would be a paper scanner. Did that for a month as a volunteer at Children's Hospital for 2 Summers. HATED IT!

I simply couldn't do any jobs that particularly take care of young children or the elderly. Don't really have the patience to do that sort of work. Also wouldn't want to work at a call center, clean stuff, or work in a factory doing the same thing every day. I would also kind of hate to work in law/justice as I don't really want to hear unfortunate events all day. Wouldn't want to work for a large corporation either; I prefer smaller business as there's not as big of a chain there.

I guess the worst job I could have though would be a chef. I really, really, do not like handling others' food or preparing things that will be digested by others, and frankly, I don't have the patience to stand in one area all day and cook food. I love cooking for myself and trying new things, but absolutely hate cooking for others (even if something small) as I'm always nervous I'll mess something up and don't want to get yelled at.

Basically working in a large department store again. I have had a job like this and it gave me a lot of anxiety all the time.

I also cant really handle a really fast paced job with lots of people.

I also could probably never be a firefighter or cop. Too scary and dangerous.

A fisherman. Being in the sea with 20 to 40 other men for three months, not knowing if you'll live through a storm.

Probably retail.
Everyone loves to say how awful everyone who works at WalMart is, but consider how customers treat them. I've known really nice people who work there, who work really hard, who've been driven to tears by customers.

1. A night shift. I need my sleep; I'm not working the graveyard shift!
2. An office job. I could never survive sitting in an office and sweating my ass off when it's 100 degrees outside.
3. Anything military-related. I don't think I'd be able to deal with that rigorous training - or getting all my hair buzzed off.
4. Anything religion-related. I'd be stuck at the mosque all day and have to lead prayers. One of my dad's cousins is an imam back in Lebanon and he told me that it's not an easy job.
5. Cleaning up garbage. This almost sounds like a punishment.

I'm surprisingly good with little kids - I used to babysit when I was younger.

Well aren't you clever :p
I would absolutely hate to be a teacher.
That's quite interesting, for a lot of people it's desirable job, but requires a lot of passion. Long hours, low pay, can be really frustrating I imagine. If I was to teach it'd be for college-aged students, at least they catually want to learn.
Call center agent. I actually had this job a few years back and NEVER AGAIN. It really is a soul crushing job.
I can imagine, definitely couldn't do that. Life-sapping.

What made him smell so bad? Really intrigued by this one.

Shit, yeah. Really risky job when you think about it.

I had an office job that was pretty great because I was never sitting for too long, got quite a bit of exercise for an office job.

The way juice from concentrate is rehydrated involves close contact with the machines and the "juice" itself is concentrated so high that is smells strong and disgusting... and it of course gets everywhere. The overalls were covered in stains.

I wouldn't mind being surrounded by all those men, but the rest is a big turn off.

Cold-Calling Sales. I really did this job and lasted three days before getting fired. I remember someone said the "magic word" to me via phone when I was trying to sell advertising space in a magazine. True story.

I would have to say...Door to door sales as well.

Anything that involves blood or handling dead things.
Sales person in a shop. I don't wish to deal with the aggression I see towards minimum wage paid employees that are on zero-hour contracts, have some respect.
