Your Pokemon "derp" moments

Hehe, title is self-explanatory.

Well, in Pokemon Emerald I was stuck in Verdanturf and Mauville City because I thought that I had to surf across the water to continue the game. I had a Swampert so I spent at least 5 days of just training it to see if it'd learn Surf. (Yeah, I was a pokenoob!) Anyway, it eventually learnt "Muddy Water" so I thought that if I tried using it against the sea it'd work - it didn't. I was so confused, my Pokemon at least level 50 now. Then it finally hit me to go back to Petalburg where my "Dad" awaited me.

In Silver, my very first pokemon game, i just could not figure out how to leave the bedroom, it took me 2 days to realise there were stairs

Similar story in Red managed to get down the stairs, but had no idea that red rectangle was supposed to be a mat in front of a door had no idea how to get out of the house.
 
I had the same problem as Benster but in pokemon Blue, it took me days to figure out how i could get out.
 
I have mentioned this before, but I it took me 4 hours to leave the house at the beginning of Pokemon Red thinking the door was just a decorative carpet.
 
Spent ages in the Lighthouse in Olivine City in HeartGold trying to find my way up until I realized that there was a hole/window in the wall.

Yeah the same thing happened to me lol. It took me an hour, as I was going back and forth thinking there was no way up.
 
My catching cycle: Spot cool Pokémon, attempt to lower it's health, critical hit, wild ... fainted, repeat.
 
Never found an Exp. Share in White until well after I beat the game.
 
Screamed in frustration when I tried riding the bike around the edges of the quicksand in Black and I kept sinking, even though I was going slowly.

It took me over an hour to realize all I had to do was just walk...
 
This isn't too derpy compared to everyone elses,but this is the only thing i can think of
I was battling my friend over wifi and his tyranitar was almost down, just had a bit of HP left after my Metagross used a super-effective Meteor Mash.
me:I'll just use a zen headbutt and finish the t-tar off :D
(taps move, and realises psychic type moves have no effect on dark types)
i face-palmed multiple times over and banged my head against random things XD...and eventually lost the battle...
