Hello my lovely Poke'brethren. I'm your local (or long distance) Pokemon TCG freak and trainer of all things ground type.
I got into Pokemon when I was a wee chap. In fact, I was the first kid in my local community to get into Pokemon, and I gave the gift of it to the other children in my backwoods, redneck town. It quickly became a town where /everyone/ played Pokemon in one medium or another. I fell into the 'competitive' ring, and before I knew it every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday I was at the comic shop slapping down cards.
I played the video games too, though with less ferocity. It took me about a year to rack up 300 hours on my Blue version (now that takes me about a month with the new games). I played link-ups almost every day, at school, after school, before school. This was a trend that continued until...well, 'til wireless battle became a reality.
I retired from the TCG at the ripe old age of 10, and took a few years off to travel Hoenn and Sinnoh. See the world, ya know. Recently I was roped back into the league by a very cunning salesman at the local card shop. I couldn't be happier about it either!
I never broke from competitive game battling, though I've only ever gone to local meet ups and tourneys. I do not have ready access to Wi-fi, so I can't trade or battle globally.
Fun Facts About Me!
In the games I ALWAYS start with Grass. I don't expect this to change with the 5th gen.
My main TCG deck has always been a grass deck.
Those two facts are a complete coincidence!
I compete in single Type tournaments with an all Steel team.
My favorite type is ground. My favorite Pokemon are Sandslash and Marowak.
I have all 493 English Pokemon names memorized in order. I also know the original 151 in German, and roughly 200 in Japanese.
I have some of the luckiest card pulls of anyone I know! At a draft, I pulled two complete LEGENDS. That's one in each pack!
So hello, greeting, salutations, and Guten Tag to all of you. I'm very much looking forwards to being a part of this most esteemed community.
Love,
~ Kangaskhan
