Just what the title says: if you're building a team based only on the new Pokemon introduced by that generation, what would they be? You're playing through the game with this team, so it's about your favorites, yes, but also how viable they are in battle and not having too many overlapping types per team.

(Tbh, this kinda just seems like a “favorite Pokémon” thread, but I like it so desregard this preface)

I’m going to choose not to use any starters, even though some of them are my favorites. I just feel like it seems a little unfair and kinda... restrictive... to fill one slot every gen with a starter that I might change depending on the game. These are definitely not teams with competitive in mind, nor are they any specific teams I’ve used over the years. Just some favorites, really. Not even always full teams.

Kanto: Butterfree, Kingler, Arcanine, Alakazam, Clefable.

Johto: Quagsire, Espeon, Magcargo, Xatu.

Hoenn: Aggron, Pelipper, Claydol, Plusle, Chimecho, Altaria.

Sinnoh: Luxray, Vespiquen, Drifblim, Lopunny,

Unova: Chandelure, Reuniclus, Leavanny, Carracosta, Vanilluxe, Seismitoad. Shoutouts to Mienshao and Galvamula.

Kalos: Florges, Gogoat, Heliolisk, Meowstic, Malamar, Aurorus (maybe).
