So I was playing Pokemon X last night...

And I got to Route 15... and I walked around that scary-as-hell marsh with the eerie music and the Hex Maniac and the really-freaky-abandoned playground...

And I got to the Scary House.

And the man told his story. And I swear, when he said:

"I turned around... and...THERE WAS A HORDE OF FACELESS MEN!"

My cat started yowling!

I jumped! A chill ran up my spine!

And then he said, "Will you tip? A Haunted house needs to earn money. If you don't tip, something bad may happen to you."

I clicked NO.

And my grandfather clock WENT OFF. It was 12 midnight.

And my cat continued yowling for 10 minutes after that.

OK, I had to post it because that's really creepy. I went downstairs by myself, looked at my grandfather clock. Just a normal clock, chiming at 12.

Then I high-tailed it out of there and onto Laverre City.

Has anyone experienced something as creepy? What's your creepiest moment playing the games?

And do you believe GF just loves to add scary stuff to freak its audience out? (I do hope so, cos I love it!)

Definitely Scary House.

Even worse was the Hex Maniac in one of the buildings in Lumiose City. She's on the 2f and comes out of nowhere. People who've seen it know what I mean.

The Old Chateau from D/P, mainly the ghost girl. If you look on my profile, you will see that Rotom is my favorite pokemon. But in order to get it you have to play the game between 9:00-4:00 (I think) and the ghost girl is also there. The fact that you can never talk to her and the mystery of her is still unsolved creeps me out. I still do it for Rotom though, well maybe not because in D/P Rotom sucks without his forms.

...she's still just watching you....

I hate all of the ghost/haunted house moments. I think my worst one was when I was playing one of the pokemon ranger games, Guardian Signs, and in that haunted house they have a poltergeist and your buddy goes missing. IT WAS SCARY. LIKE SO SCARY I SHUT OFF THE GAME AND LOST MY SAVE DATA. IT DIDN'T HELP THAT I WAS PLAYING LATE AT NIGHT AND THE TV WAS ON LIKE HOLY SHIT.

I just ran into her, she just disappears after you enter that floor after saying some words. I actually think she's a ghost.

Well, she does have the floating/sliding animation.

does it have to be in a pokemon game?

just in case i will put 2 down.

1st - Dead space (ps3) i was walking around the ship just exploring for fun when all the lights went out in the game (playing in the dark with surround sound is great and all but not at 11pm) i was in bed at the time while playing and i was walking around the dark room in game and all of a sudden the lights turned on and infront of me was a huge necromorph this freaked me out but then at the same time my cat jumped onto my lap making me jump even higher (good experience, not many games can make that kind of atmosphere)

2nd - pokemon platinum, the haunted house (cannot remember what route it is on) but i was wandering around that house for the first time thinking it would be like the house in pokemon red, blue and yellow where they say it is haunted but there is nothing there, but as i was walking around i saw something out the corner of my screen and went to investigate only to find a girl with no legs wandering around this house, not seen that in these types of games before so it did kind of freak me out abit but in a good way =3

Ummm, this isn't really scary, but it did creep me out that Game Freak would put this in their game. I was in the Battle Maison and a Maid challenged me and she said, "People like me when I'm in this outfit" that creeps me out especially 'cuz she's a maid! TT~TT

I agree that all the haunted house/ghost moments are creepy. Gosh, if I'm afraid of a Pokemon game, how do people play real horror games and come out unfazed?

If melancholy creepy counts, there're a few moments like that for me
-N's bedroom-When you really think about this place and the story behind it, it's..just really sad. You have this young man, probably very close to adulthood, who's essentially spent a large portion of his childhood in this one room as a refuge from both his father and the ostracism he's faced due to his ability to talk to Pokemon, causing him to develop little of his own identity outside Team Plasma. The excess of toys makes it even worse when you realize Ghetsis was trying to spoil him to hide the emotional manipulation he was performing on his own son. It gets even more creepier in BW2, when you hear the "broken music box" (for lack of a better descriptor) version of N's theme (representing his coming to terms with his childhood and moving past it) and the message when you interact with the toys-something (I'm paraphrasing) along the lines of "It hasn't been played with in a long time..." I'm not stating this in a fangirlish, "buuuuuut he's soo misunderstoood!!!11!" manner, as a lot of the fandom seems to portray N, but out of a sense of pity. There's a reason why BW is considered to have the best plot.
-There's a Team Flare grunt who tells the player, "I bought a new life for 5,000,000 ¥." (The editor won't let me post the symbol for Poke Dollars.) This quote was meant to be played for laughs, but something about it is really unsettling to me, as if the grunt was so unsatisfied with their current life that they felt they needed to create a new one.
-Marowak and Cubone in general. I always have to wonder if a Marowak mother has ever successfully lived to raise her child...

I gotta say, the Japanese gamemakers really know how to creep people out.

The ghost girl in Lumiose office building 1 was creepy too. But you know what was the effect that got me? The fact the LIGHTS flicker when u enter.

Awww why do you hate them? Haha. I love scary stuff.

I'd say the Strange House. From furniture that relocate themselves after you leave the room to that ghost girl... *shudder*

When you pet Espurr on its ears.

OMFG I F*KING SH*T MY F*CKING SELF.

From Bulbapedia:

"Its ears, quite large in proportion to its body, are folded- beneath them are two ring-shaped buff-colored organs. These organs emit Espurr's intense psychic powers, and said power would leak out were the ears not sheltering the organs."

apparently it doesn't like to be petted on its ears BECAUSE IT'S GOT INTERNAL ORGANS IN THERE :scared:

The ghost lady in that building in Lumiose. I wandered in there to explore and she comes out of the elevator, it's almost midnight and I can't move because I'm just thinking "oh shit this is creepypasta level terrifying". The lights flickering did not help.

I like scary stuff when I can convince myself it's not real. But I get scared easily and it was unexpected. Like, I never would have gone near the old chateau except you can get rotom there. And I'm sorry, I don't exactly hate them, but that one moment made me feel like I was in a freaking horror movie.

-That girl in Lumiose. Most of my reasons were already said, but also the fact that the music stops while she's sliding out from behind you. I got to that part while lying on a friend's couch late at night with the lights off. I really thought it was a glitch. (not to mention that the Lumiose save glitch had recently been reported)

-N's toy room, full stop. When I realized that a young adult was playing with little kid's toys in a room like that in BW, I shuddered. It made me think that N is autistic or has some other kind of mental disorder. Then in BW2, when he tags with you and you walk into the room together, N says a few words and leaves, and doesn't rejoin you until you get out. Even N is creeped out by his own room.

-Strange House. The music and shaking furniture did that.

-The places where you find some of the legendaries in XY don't have any music, and that adds to an uneasy effect.

Probably the creepiest thing I've seen in Y is the daycare guy. The guy just stands there, day and night, watching pokemon. Just watching...

Read Espurr's pokedex entry. THAT is creepy. Espurr's ears are actually keeping it from killing everyone with its unstable psychic powers.

I pick the ghost girls from the Old Chateau and the Lumiose building. Oh, and the original Lavender Town music.
