Trainer Red is not amused.

The only ones that don't have the version name are Ethan and Lyra. Which are from the last games released.

Wow, that seems to just leave the first two guys.

Then there's also the entire naming list for each game, which is more expanded in the remake versions.

I think that's probably true.

I bet the manga writers just wanted to keep the version names as the heroine names just to stay with tradition.

You mean because of the male player character in the new games' name is shown is Black? I'm pretty sure they showed Ethan's name as Soul too, that doesn't make it his name.
