Seriously. Apparently comments on youtube have exploits which send you marquees, and ads, which then send you to really nasty sites and stuff. Just read about it after listening to music on 10 or so videos, but nothing happened.
 
Youtube commenters are evil. It is now proven.
 
Youtube seems to be auto-hiding comments with "Safety mode" or something like that now.

Basically what happened earlier was some people on the internet found an exploit on youtube that involved javascript. It would cause youtube to glitch up and hide comments. What then hapened were people at various sites such as 4chan started trolling videos with links to nasty sites, random popups, requests to open random software, and more. People kept copying and pasting javascript on videos, until safety mode was enabled. It was patched shortly afterwards, and you now only see the source of scripted comments.

And what is the point in the Safety Mode? It seems kinda pointless. It's not as if people actually waste time reading other's comments (I don't).
 
Too bad the pop-ups about Justin Beiber being dead weren't true. :D From what I read from the articles posted above, I guess you don't really have to worry about the hack unless you're a hardcore Justin Beiber fan that watches his YouTube videos 24/7.
 
Nearly all the popular vids were hacked. Not just hustin bieber.
