As most of us Zelda fans/fanatics know, a new Zelda game for the Wii U is slated for a mid-2015 release. Very few details have been revealed so far, except that the graphics will be neither cartoony nor realistic, and that the game will challenge what is expected from the Zelda series.

What do you guys expect for this game, and are you excited? I definitely am, since Zelda is probably my favorite franchise. (Even though I do not currently own a Wii U. Gonna fix that ASAP...)

IIRC, there's been some statements about wanting the game to be Skyrim style open world and wanting to emphasize magic over tools. I'd certainly enjoy the latter, one thing that kind of bugs me about the Zelda series is the generic weaponry, I always enjoy the more innovative stuff like the Hookshot and Roc's Cape. Using magic would be neat. Not sure I like the idea of open world, though, because that can sometimes be confusing to navigate.

I don't want magic in Zelda anymore unless it actually becomes useful. I never had to use magic much at all whenever it DID appear in the game.

I can't wait to see what this new title looks like if it'll be neither cartoony nor realistic.

They probably will make more useful spells like Din's Fire, I don't think they're going to change up the formula so much that you won't be using new skills to progress.

Din's Fire? Useful? lol sure. Din's Fire was only ever needed once in the game it appeared in.

Im positive we will see something regarding it at Pax Australia this coming weekend. My justification being that after E3 nintendo said that they COULD of shown it there but decided they wanted to wait abit longer. The other thing being Nintendo was the first company to announce a presence at Pax Aus months before anyone else. I dont imagine they would of gotten in so early unless they had plans to show something. Although that could very much just be hands on for A link between worlds or a new trailer for Pokemon XY.

While it is a possibility, it is very remote. Nintendo seems to be very fond of doing Nintendo Directs for this kind of thing lately, and I doubt they'd want to take away hype from WWHD or ALBW both of which release in nearly less than four months.
